There will b e foot screen ing during registration; blood sugar/blood pressure screen ing, and a flu vaccine clinic. O ther services available in clude: M edicare/M edicaid with th e IH S b usiness o ffice ; Weight o f the N ation with E ric B radford and D w ight C arp en ; v isio n w ith D r. Corey; diabetes foot care with C am ero n C oker; exercise with the diabetes prevention has earned the chance to com pete at the Indian National Finals Rodeo this fall in Las Vegas. Billey, 14, is a freshman at Madras H igh School, an d a m em b er o f th e Western States Indian Ro deo Association. A t the National Finals Rodeo he will be compet ing in the 15 and under steer riding event. The Fi nals are Nov. 6-10. Benjamin had a good 2012 ro d eo season. H e w on or placed in several rodeos this past summer. His m ost recent wins were at the, Fort Hall Jun ior Rodeo. He won the Jun ior Bull Riding com peti tion, with some coaching fro m a N a tiv e P ro f e s sional Bull Riding rider. In the W estern States Indian Rodeo Regionals, B en jam in w o n seco n d place on the first day, and first-place on final day. H e traveled to rodeos in Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Washington. H e has future plans for bronc- riding and bareback riding. A nd next year he plans to join the High School Ro deo A ssociation and the . Indian H ead Casino is hosting a Halloween cbSs tum e co n test w ith $250 for the first-place winner. S econd place w inner gets $100, and third place, $50. Contestants m ust be 21 or over. Judging will be at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Hal loween day. Winners will be ppsted at 8 p.m. F o r th is c o n te s t n o masks or face paint are al lowed. H arvey will oversee the day-to-day operations o f the M A C, in c lu d in g m a in te nance and front desk staff, and w ill w o rk w ith Steve K eeyer, Program D irector, on dry land recreation p ro grams. Bobby DeRoest. will c o n tin u e to m an a g e all Ç o ry a llis and DeRoest, will also super vise all lifeguards and assure trainings are up to date. This division o f duties betw een DeRoest and Harvey will al low both the aquatic and dry land recreation programs to improve and expand, and will provide m ore atten tio n to maintenance, custom er ser vice and administrative func tions, “As the new O perations Manager at the MAC, I am excited about being able to interact with the people from W arm Springs again,’’- said Harvey, “I'have already seen plenty o f Warm Springs folks walk into the.
