Many people from tbe Eastern atalee hare settled in the city during tn year, and all seem eatis fled with their new homes. The newcomers are among the better class ot well-to-do people, and they will be a factor iu building up 'he city in the future. The business handled by tbe railroads during tbe paat year in the city bas in creased over 50 per cent in both freight and passenger departments.
