TV Association Eor Handicapped Nick Eddy, Ontario, gave a slide presentation of this sum mer's camping program for handicapped young people held during July at VictoryCove, the Nazarene Church campground near McCall. He appeared on the program at the September meeting of the Treasure Valley Association for Handicapped and Retarded Children, Inc., when they met recently in On tario. Mr. Eddy had photogra phed the various activities of the campers and counselors, primarily featuring the young people from this Treasure Val ley area. He commented that seventeen of the forty-eight cam- pers in attendance at the camp sponsored by the Civitan or ganizations were from this area. Eddy also commented that these slides are available for showing to other civic or ganizations who may be interes ted in learning more about this special camping program. Don Mickey, director for TVO, Inc., also appeared on the pro gram speaking briefly about the activities being conducted to lo cate a suitable building for the sheltered workshop and other prospects of the program. Com munity help will be appreciated if you know of a suitable build ing that may be available for the workshop activities. During the business meet ing, conducted by president Irma Baker, Ontario, Barbara Beck reported on the programs and activities of the social center for the handicapped young people of the area. One of the current projects Is a partnership bu siness venture with the Ontario FFA in the Green Thumb farm ing operation, which is currently involved with the harvesting and marketing of tomatoes and cantalopes. Anyone interested in purchasing the produce may do so at the Green Thumb stand near Ontario or contact Bar bara Beck at 889-3480 morn ings only. Proceeds from this business venture will be used for the socialcenter. It was also mentioned that community sup port will be greatly appreciated in helping with donations for the social center in order to make ,he program available and more beneficial to more handicapped persons. Martha Christeson director of the Mary Kay School reported that the students are thoroughly enjoying the swimming session held once each week at the Payette pool.
