Ever hold a garage lale7 It'a
fun
Especially if you're
moving and want to rid your
self of unneeded clothing,
furniture, and those odd
pieces which never seemed to
fit into your decorating plans
Before you move, take a
complete inventory of all of
the things in your house and
decide what you don’t need
Such things as the mounted
moose head Uncle Joe gave
you, the clothes the kids out
grew last year, or the ice

a fair price7 Some garage sale
experts claim that one-thud
or one fourth of the original
price of an item will move
these "treasures” out of your
garage depending, of course,
on the age and condition of
each item

TV Association Eor Handicapped
Nick Eddy, Ontario, gave a
slide presentation of this sum
mer's camping program for
handicapped young people held
during July at VictoryCove, the
Nazarene Church campground
near McCall. He appeared on the
program
at the September
meeting of the Treasure Valley
Association for Handicapped
and Retarded Children, Inc.,
when they met recently in On
tario. Mr. Eddy had photogra
phed the various activities of
the campers and counselors,
primarily featuring the young
people from this Treasure Val
ley area. He commented that
seventeen of the forty-eight cam-
pers in attendance at the camp
sponsored by the Civitan or
ganizations were from this
area.
Eddy also commented
that these slides are available
for showing to other civic or
ganizations who may be interes
ted in learning more about this
special camping program.
Don Mickey, director for TVO,
Inc., also appeared on the pro
gram speaking briefly about the
activities being conducted to lo
cate a suitable building for the
sheltered workshop and other
prospects of the program. Com
munity help will be appreciated
if you know of a suitable build
ing that may be available for
the workshop activities.
During the business meet
ing, conducted by president Irma
Baker, Ontario, Barbara Beck
reported on the programs and
activities of the social center
for the handicapped young people
of the area. One of the current
projects Is a partnership bu
siness venture with the Ontario
FFA in the Green Thumb farm
ing operation, which is currently
involved with the harvesting and
marketing of tomatoes and
cantalopes. Anyone interested
in purchasing the produce may
do so at the Green Thumb stand
near Ontario or contact Bar
bara Beck at 889-3480 morn
ings only. Proceeds from this
business venture will be used
for the socialcenter. It was also
mentioned that community sup
port will be greatly appreciated
in helping with donations for the
social center in order to make
,he program available and more
beneficial to more handicapped
persons.
Martha Christeson director
of the Mary Kay School reported
that the students are thoroughly
