Thacker, CMM USN., re cruiter in charge of the Boise navy recruiting station, announced today the enlistments of Jack T. Knowles, 18. and Floyd E. Ulrey, 18, both of Nyssa. The two young men enlisted in tha regular navy as apprentice seamen for a period of three years, and are now receiving their basic training at the San Diego naval training center. The navy officials stated that many petty officer ra t ings are now open to men with previous naval service who re-enlist prior to October 31, 1947, and who were discharged on or after Aug ust 1, 1945.
