A contract to that effect has been clos ed with the United States Steel Corpor ation, the price per ton being $28. About i two-thirds of the railswill be used on the lines of the Southern Pacific in this state, Oregon and Texas. Nearly all oi the 100 pound steel rails for the line over the Shasta and Siskiyou Mountains between Redding, this state, and Albany, Oregon, have been received : and laid. 1 Proprietors. [TO THE EDITOR TILLAMOOK HEADLIGHT ] Every man is looking for something that satisfies, but how many times we are disappointed, only to find the hollow dissatisfaction, something to mar our jo v, it is not what we expected. Christ said seek ye first the kingdom of God If we seek it al all, it is as a last resort, generally with one foot in the grave. The whole Christian religion had its origin in this one proposition. The per son who does not believe in the sovcrignty of God is untrust worthy, and if the American government goes (t down, it will be at the hands of men who do not respect His will. The kingdom of God is the only solution of the social problem, because it is the only thing we can agree on, and does not work any hardship on anv one else. Men are accountable to God, not to me. I have no right to judge another man’s liberty. He stands or falls to his own master. Luke xvi., 16. The law and the prophets were until John ; since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. _____________ J. C. G ove .
