Attorney Advises Butts To Take No More Lie Tests ATLANTA (LTH - The attor ney for former University of Geor gia Athletic Director Wallace Butts said Wednesday he has ad vised his client against taking a second lie detector test in connec tion with an alleged Southeastern Conference football scandal. "My advice to my client must be lo let us try his case in the court house where it belongs and that he should not go on submit ting to lie detector tests at ran dom in spite of his willingness to do so." attorney William Schro der wrote Stale Attorney General Eugene Cook. Terms of Ihe three year pact were not disclosed but Baker was believed to have signed for ap proximately $20,000 a year and a sizeable bonus. , Hirsch, now assistant to Ham President Daniel Reeves, beamed after landing the widely - sought Baker and said, "we have high hopes (or him. He is a top-notch football player and a real fine gentleman and he's intelligent and practical as well." Sign-Ups Scheduled For LL Friday night will be sign-up time for the Little Leaguers. All boys from 8 to 11 and who will be 12 before Aug. 1 are to meet Friday night at the Fremont School Auditorium at 7:30 for the sign-up. Boys who participated in the Majors or Minors, last year should nol be present for this sign-up. Ihe boys signing up are asked lo bring their birth certifi cates or copies of them. Tryouts for the teams will be at Mills Liltle League Baseball Park April 6 7, weather permit ting. Minor League players will try for Major teams from 12 noon until 2:30. New boys will organize at 1:30 and begin try outs at 2:30. Coaches will be present at the sign-ups to answer any ques tions. This sign-up is for the City School District players only The Suburban leagues will be notified of their sign-up times. There were 190 players last year. The league starts May 31. There is expected lo be 14 teams in each league as things shape no now.
