CXl'B SPEAKER MOUNT SHASTA John S Scroggins, College of the Siski yous, spoke on communism at the March 20 meeting of the Mount Shasta Soroptimist Club Other guests were Mrs. Martin Cooper, Mrs. Joyce Higley, Mrs. Ida Ambum and Merriam Am- burn. Toastmi stress Club Meeting MOUNT SHASTA - Toastmis-; tress Club of Mount Shasta met March 20 for a social and busi ness meeting. Mrs. Evelyn Doak was toastmistress for the eve ning. Speakers were Mis. Edna Maxwell on "Expressions and Words," Mrs. Marian Tassie with the ice-breaker speech, and an impromptu speech, "I Enjoy Meeting the Public," was ren dered by Mrs. Florence Meline of Weed. Mrs. Imadean Hill was chosen best evaluator. Mrs. Esther Foulke of Gazelle won the cup and best topics with her talk on "Spring Roundup." Mrs. Foulke was charmingly dressed in an all pink cowgirl outfit which tied in with her speech1 when she explained the cowboy-! cowgirl clothes' practicality that they were not all for "show." She is president of California Cowl Belles. Decorating scheme centered around spring hats, with each member wearing some sort of chapeau, some funny, some cute some real. Table decorations were all kinds of Easter bonnets. fashion and pattern magazines. A dessert buflet and cuflee were served to the large group.
