many sewing enthusiasts have
pressed over basting threads with
a steam iron only to find that
marks were left in the fabric. I
always baste with a silk thread
which will leave no marks on tlw
material when it is pressed.

To Stage Sale
University of Oregon Mothers
Club has chosen the dates April
4 and 5, Wednesday and Thurs
day, for the annual rummage sale
to be field at Clyde's Towing Serv
ice. Mrs. R. J. Brinegar. club pres
ident, and sale chairman, requests
the cooperation of members and
their friends in collecting sale
items for this event, proceeds of
which will go toward scholarships
Persons having rummage are
asked to take it to Clyde's on
Wednesday evening, April 3, or
for pickup contact Mrs. Brinegar
at TU 4-7567 or Mrs. Ford Kimp-
ton, TU 2-1780.
The sale will start at 8:30 a.m.

March 20 for a social and busi
ness meeting. Mrs. Evelyn Doak
was toastmistress for the eve
ning. Speakers were Mis. Edna
Maxwell on "Expressions and
Words," Mrs. Marian Tassie
with the ice-breaker speech, and
an impromptu speech, "I Enjoy
Meeting the Public," was ren
dered by Mrs. Florence Meline of
Weed. Mrs. Imadean Hill was
chosen best evaluator.
Mrs. Esther Foulke of Gazelle
won the cup and best topics with
her talk on "Spring Roundup."
Mrs. Foulke was charmingly
dressed in an all pink cowgirl
outfit which tied in with her speech1
when she explained the cowboy-!
