The 12-story structure is being built and presented to the Fair by U. S. Steel Corp. The final piece, representing the Pacific Ocean from 150 degrees west to 180 degrees (the international date line) and from the equator to the North Pole, carried the American flag as the last and highest piece of Unisphere. Janet Lee, Cathy Carl son and Mary Williams told about the 4-H summer school which they attended. We discussed our campout and decided that we would go as a group rather than in dividual groups. We decided to go to Lake of the Woods. Two of the members" mothers will be In charge. , ; ' We closed the meeting with a lesson on livestock judging. Don Pinkham, ; Reporter Smart Cookies The 14th meeting of the Smart Cookies 4-H club was called to order recently at the home of Mrs. W. R. Florey by club president, Kayrn Ricks. . Verna Rempei t led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Emerine led the 4-H pledge. Shuree Davis and Verna Rempert did a salad demon stration.'. It was later served for refreshments. Each mem ber is reminded to bring their j assigned food and their own drink. The 4-H prefair will be held : at 8:30 a.m. July 26 at the Grange hall in Central Point. Peggy Martin and Don Gail gave reports on the sum mer school and they con. tinucdby saying that they each had a good time and learned a lot about 4-H work. George Martin gave a report on the feeding of a market hog, stressing the need for a balanced diet.
