Law awl : : Mr. and Mrs. William Verne Hine (Braintrd pholo) Speakers Announced For Extension Spring Festival Mrs. Kicldell Lage, presi dent of the Oregon Home Economics Extension coun cil, will be one of the guest speakers for the Jackson County Home Extension Spring Festival, Tuesday, April 16, at the Central Point Grange hall. Registration will begin at 9:15 a.m. and the program will start promptly at 10 a.m., the committee an nounces. Mrs. Lage, an attractive Hood River homemaker, is on a goodwill mission around Oregon this spring, telling of her experiences as a dele gate to the Associated Country Women of the World Confer ence which was held in Mel bourne, Australia last Oc tober. ACWW membership com prises more than 6 million women from 33 countries who arc joined together for the common purpose of better ment of family life every where. While in Australia Mrs. Lage had an opportunity to visit homes and see land marks and products. En route back to the United States, she visited Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, and Japan. Mrs. David Kahl, Eagle Point, chairman' of the Jack son County Extension Advis ory committee, will preside over the meeting. Mrs. War ren Christensen will give the invocation and Mrs. J. W. Martinson will lead the flag salute. Mrs. Frank Williams will lead group singing. Mrs. Glen V. Allen, District V director, will introduce and install the four new members who have been elected to the County Advisory committee. The four who are retiring from the committee this year are Mrs. Warren Kelsoe, Mrs. Leland Charley, Mrs. Ira Fitzgerald, and Mrs. Lester Wertz. Special entertainment at the festival will be by the Lavalliers, a singing group from Crater High school, di rected by Norman Carothers. Women of the Central Point Grange will serve luncheon. Exhibits of the projects studied during the year will be displayed in the Legion hall across the street from the Grange hall. Phone 772-8992 f Christian Church Scene of Hine-Conner Mr. and Mrs. William Verne Hine, whose marriage was an event of April 6 in Med ford First Christian church, left immediately fol- lowing the wedding reception for Everett. Wash., where they are at home. The bride is the former Miss Marilyn Jo Conner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Conner Jr., 906 South Nowtown street, Med ford. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Hine, Marysville. Wash., who with the bridegroom's sisters, i Miss Christine Hine and Miss Patty Hine, were in Medford for the ceremony. The Rev. Wendell Waaler! read the double ring rites, held at 7:30 o'clock in the j evening and attended by about 55 guests. Miss Judy Acord, a cousin of the bride, was the maid of honor. Walter Conner, a brother of the bride, served as best man, and ushers were Verl Fegles. an uncle of the bride from Eugene, and Gary B. Conner, another brother. Wears Taffeta The bride's father gave her in marriage. Her street-length dress was of embroidered taf feta designed with gathered skirt and scooped neckline. Her crown of seed pearls and shoulder length veil were loaned by Mrs. Cecil Crock ett. She carried pink and white carnations on a white Bible. The bride also wore a small gold locket which had been a gift to her from her I parents when she was a year old. The attendant's gown was I of pink embroidered taffeta which she wore with a pinK j veil headpiece. Hor nosegay bouquet was of pink and I white carnations. Lighting the candles were j Miss Kathy Conner, a sister of the bride, and Miss Chris tine Hine, a sister of the bridegroom. Their frocks were pink and their wristlet corsages of pink and white . flowers. Pink plum blossoms with magnolias and spirca, arrang ed by Mrs. Ross Conner, aunt of the bride, decorated the church. Miss Joyce Hunter played the organ music. Reception Given The reception given by the bride's parents was held in the church rooms. Mrs. Ross Conner served the wedding cake and pouring punch was Mrs. William Acord, another aunt. Mrs. Fegles, also an aunt, served the coffee. The bride's table was dec orated with a floating floral centerpiece of pink camellias POLYESTER ritR FOR KEEPS Ceremony arranged by Mrs. Glenn Allen, Mrs. Floyd Covey : Mrs. Don House and Mrs. Ray Henry, who also assisted in decorat ing the reception room and assisted with the serving Miss Barbara Gordon had charge uf the guest book and Miss Beth Barnes and Miss Jill Statsenberg presided at the gift table. For her daughter's wedding and reception the bride's mother wore a light blue suit with white accessories, and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in a navy blue suit with white accessories. Both had while carnation cor sages. Parties Given Previous to the wedding. Mrs. Cecil Crockett and Miss Judy Acord entertained at a shower for the bride-elect. About 'JO guests attended. An other shower was given by the bride - elect's instructors at the Medford Beauty school, which she recently attended. For traveling the bride wore a floral jersey dress with black accessories. Her corsage was of gardenias. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and for two years attended the North west Christian college at Eu gene. The bridegroom, a graduate of Marysville. Wash., High school also attended North west Christian college. He is employed at the Northgate Egg farm in Everett. Laura Ellen Rupert August Rites Plan of Pair A late August wedding is planned by Miss Laura Ellen Rupert, and Noel E. Dunlop whose engagement has been announced by the bride elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rupert, 130 Port land avenue. The bridegroom-elect is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Dun'op of Jacksonville. Both young persons are Medford High school graduates and both attended Southern Ore gon college. The bridegroom-e 1 e c t is employed by Lillcbo Con struction company. Reunion Held On Palm Sunday Gold Hill - Guests of Mrs. Thomas Z. Smith on Palm Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Johnston and daughter, Jane, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wilson, their daughter, Vir ginia and son Donald, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith, and sons Randy, Allen and Timmey, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gamier and daughter, Cathy, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Stewart, and Scotty and Russell Frink, all Medford. The bride groom is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hart of Medford and Central Point, He also is the nephew of Mrs. Robert Hart and Floyd Hart Jr., both Medford. Gown Hand Sewn The bride's gown, hand sewn in Mexico City, Mexico, was of satin with straight front and full skirt at the back, designed with a bow bustle and train. The front of the gown .and sleeves were trimmed with bugle beads centered with rhinestones. Her headpiece of jeweled flowers matched the trim ming on the gown and her veil was fingertip length. The bride's bouquet was of white roses which she carried on a white Bible, a gifb- to her from Mrs. Florrie Bacon, Bethel 13, International Order of Job's Daughters. Mrs. John Skinner, the matron of honor, and the bridesmaids, Miss Brooke Rcitman and Miss Judy Noble, wore pink pcau de soic gowns and carried bouquets of pink carnations. Marcia Pennington, a cou sin of the bride, was flower girl and her frock also was of pink peau de soie. Mr. Skinner was best man and seating the guests were Floyd Hart, Jr., Medford, uncle of the bridegroom; Jack Enders, former Medford resi dent; Paul Lustig and Jack Bcrgstrom, an uncle of the bridegroom. Flowers Are Pink The church was decorated with white carnations and white pompon chrysanthe mums. Altar flowers were pink and white carnations. The couple made their wed ding trip to Isla Mujcres in the Caribbean. For traveling the bride chose a beige suit with matching accessories. They will live in Mexico City, D. F., Mexico, where both arc students in Mexico City college. The bride attended Fuller ton Union High school, Fuller- ton Junior college and Criss Business college. Jeweler -is Phono 773-6206 Methodist Ceremony Weds Pair Central Point Mrs. Pat ricia Ann Booth, 2060 Table Rock road, became the bride of Freeman Otis Garrison, 725 Cherry street, Central Point, in a double ring cere mony held April 7 at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon. Dr. George C. Roscbcrry officiated at the wedding held in First Methodist church, Medford. Some 40 relatives and friends attended. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Fulmcr, Pearl, 111. Mr. and Mrs. Ver non C. Garrison, Central Point, are the bridegroom's parents. The bride wore a pink chiffon and lace frock and carried white carnations and pink rosebuds. D. O. Parton gave her in marriage. Miss Mildred Spence was maid of honor and brides maids were Miss Jackie Mc Alvaney, Miss Marilyn Mc Dowell, and Miss Patty Still well. They wore blue and pink frocks and carried pink and white nosegay bouquets. John Hammcrslcy served as best man and seating the guests were Carolyn Jasmann and Carol Shaw. Following the ceremony a reception was held by the Garrisons at the American Legion hall. Music was fur nished by the Jay Stough Trio. The bride attended East Pike High school in Milton, 111. Mr. Garrison attended Crater High school and is em ployed by Bill Graham's Used Cars. The couple is at home at 2060 Table Rock road. Local Student Awarded Honor Miss Nancy Hinman, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Hin man, 67S Oakdale drive, was named outstanding sophomore girl of the year by Delta Gamma sorority alumnae during a recent Founders day banquet of the sorority at the University of Oregon. Miss Hinman is majoring In elementary education at the university and is activities chairman for the sorority. She Is a graduate of Medford High school. At the university, the student also Is active In Kwama, and ROTC Angel Flight, both honorary service activities. Lions Club Auxiliary Accepts Memorial Fund A memorial fund in the memory of Mrs. Thomas (Lillian) Flynn was accepted by the auxiliary to the Med ford Lions club during their April 10 meeting. The fund was given the group for their use in work with the blind and parents of blind children. The donor was Mrs. Flynn's son, Frank Hazclton, Agate Beach, Ore. The late Mrs. Flynn was an active member of the auxil iary for many years. The dinner meeting was held jointly with members of the auxiliary to the Crater Lions club In the Colony rest aurant.
