Extension Spring Festival

County Home Extension
Spring Festival, Tuesday,
April 16, at the Central Point
Grange hall. Registration will
begin at 9:15 a.m. and the
program will start promptly
at 10 a.m., the committee an
nounces. Mrs. Lage, an attractive
Hood River homemaker, is
on a goodwill mission around
Oregon this spring, telling of
her experiences as a dele
gate to the Associated Country
Women of the World Confer
ence which was held in Mel
bourne, Australia last Oc
tober. ACWW membership com
prises more than 6 million
women from 33 countries who
arc joined together for the
common purpose of better
ment of family life every
where. While in Australia Mrs.
Lage had an opportunity to
visit homes and see land
marks and products. En route
back to the United States, she
visited Bangkok, Hong Kong,
Singapore, the Philippines,
and Japan. She was elected
by the extension women of
Oregon to officially represent

Wertz.
Special entertainment at
the festival will be by the
Lavalliers, a singing group
from Crater High school, di
rected by Norman Carothers.
Women of the Central Point
Grange will serve luncheon.
Exhibits of the projects
studied during the year will
be displayed in the Legion
hall across the street from
the Grange hall.

was an event of April 6 in

church, left immediately fol-
lowing the wedding reception
for Everett. Wash., where
they are at home. The bride
is the former Miss Marilyn
Jo Conner, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Conner Jr.,

Med ford.
The bridegroom is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. William C.
Hine, Marysville. Wash., who
with the bridegroom's sisters, i

Patty Hine, were in Medford
for the ceremony.

Miss Judy Acord, a cousin

from Eugene, and Gary B.

Wears Taffeta
The bride's father gave her
in marriage. Her street-length
dress was of embroidered taf
feta designed with gathered
skirt and scooped neckline.
Her crown of seed pearls and
shoulder length veil were
loaned by Mrs. Cecil Crock
ett. She carried pink and
white carnations on a white
Bible. The bride also wore a
small gold locket which had
been a gift to her from her
I parents when she was a year
old.
The attendant's gown was
I of pink embroidered taffeta
which she wore with a pinK
j veil headpiece. Hor nosegay
bouquet was of pink and
I white carnations.
Lighting the candles were j
Miss Kathy Conner, a sister
of the bride, and Miss Chris
tine Hine, a sister of the
bridegroom. Their frocks
were pink and their wristlet
corsages of pink and white .

Pink plum blossoms with
magnolias and spirca, arrang
ed by Mrs. Ross Conner, aunt
of the bride, decorated the
church. Miss Joyce Hunter
played the organ music.
Reception Given
The reception given by the
bride's parents was held in
the church rooms. Mrs. Ross
Conner served the wedding
cake and pouring punch was
Mrs. William Acord, another
aunt. Mrs. Fegles, also an
aunt, served the coffee.

shower for the bride-elect.

the bride - elect's instructors
at the Medford Beauty school,
which she recently attended.
For traveling the bride
wore a floral jersey dress
with black accessories. Her
corsage was of gardenias.
The bride is a graduate of
Medford High school and for
two years attended the North
west Christian college at Eu
gene. The bridegroom, a graduate
of Marysville. Wash., High
school also attended North
west Christian college. He is
employed at the Northgate
Egg farm in Everett.

The bride's gown, hand
sewn in Mexico City, Mexico,
was of satin with straight
front and full skirt at the
back, designed with a bow
bustle and train. The front of
the gown .and sleeves were
trimmed with bugle beads
centered with rhinestones.
Her headpiece of jeweled
flowers matched the trim
ming on the gown and her
veil was fingertip length. The
bride's bouquet was of white
roses which she carried on a
white Bible, a gifb- to her
from Mrs. Florrie Bacon,
Bethel 13, International Order
of Job's Daughters.
Mrs. John Skinner, the
matron of honor, and the
bridesmaids, Miss Brooke
Rcitman and Miss Judy Noble,
wore pink pcau de soic gowns
and carried bouquets of pink
carnations.
Marcia Pennington, a cou
sin of the bride, was flower
girl and her frock also was
of pink peau de soie.
Mr. Skinner was best man
and seating the guests were
Floyd Hart, Jr., Medford,
uncle of the bridegroom; Jack
Enders, former Medford resi
dent; Paul Lustig and Jack

bridegroom.

The church was decorated
with white carnations and
white pompon chrysanthe
mums. Altar flowers were
pink and white carnations.

the bride's parents in the

Lions Club Auxiliary
Accepts Memorial Fund
A memorial fund in the
memory of Mrs. Thomas
(Lillian) Flynn was accepted
by the auxiliary to the Med
ford Lions club during their
April 10 meeting.
The fund was given the
group for their use in work
with the blind and parents of
blind children. The donor
was Mrs. Flynn's son, Frank
Hazclton, Agate Beach, Ore.
The late Mrs. Flynn was an
active member of the auxil
iary for many years.
The dinner meeting was
held jointly with members of
the auxiliary to the Crater
Lions club In the Colony rest
aurant. Mrs. Harry Lytcr of
the Medford auxiliary and
Mrs. Earl Richardson, Crater
auxiliary program chairman,
presented Don McNeil, man-
O'Brien - Harvey Cogburn,
Mlna, Ark., visited his brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
