Does the pile spring back from the pressure nf your fingers? Next, bend the carpet to ward its back, either on the corner of a large sample or from the middle of a small hand sample. Do the rows or tufts slay close together? Good Carpet If your answer to these questions is "yes" you're looking at good pieces of car pet. You may see several sam ples which are equally good, so that you can decide on the basis of style or color preference. All of these "tests are aimed at determining the den sity of the carpel. This factor is your best single clue to quality. The height of pile in plush, cut piles, or the close ness and tightness of construc tion in other styles such as looped or multilevel pile is the answer to quality.
