Crater School To Give Concert Central Point T h e music department of Crater High school will present their win ter concert Friday, December 18, - at the high school at 8 p.m.- The program will include the band, choir and other groups recently, organized at the school. Norman D. Caroth ers will direct the production; the program will not be an nounced until the evening of the performance. No admission will be charged. Grant Quinney Jr., junior board member, introduced his guest, David Irving, chairman of the Junior Red Cross coun cil. He explained the activl ties " of the schools for the Phoenix Women To Hold Election ."Phoenix-rEleetion of offl cers is scheduled for the Wom en's Association of the Phoe nix Presbyterian church at a meeting Thursday, December 17, at the church. A dessert luncheon will be served at 12:30 o'clock fol lowed by. a business session. Mrs. Jack Sides, Medford, treasurer of the Southwest Oregon Presbyterial, will be installing officer. All women nominated for offices in the association for the coming year are requested to attend. Mrs. C. A. Stothers, presi dent, reminds those who wish to bring an article of food which will be distributed in the community for Christmas. Donations must be left at the church some time between Thursday, December 17, and; Sunday, December 20. 1 month of December relative to decorations and entertain ment for the V. A. .Domicili ary, and the canned food col lection for Christmas baskets for the needy. Progress Reported Mrs. Joe Hearin, chairman of production service, report ed- on the progress of the 12 volunteers in her group who are sewing needed articles for the V. A. Domiciliary, and urged those helping with fu ture projects to contact the office. Elliott Becken gave a brief explanation of the participa tion of the Red Cross in the Christmas giving project spon sored by the Inter - Agency Council. Red Cross facilities are being used as a clearing house in an. effort to avoid duplication of food baskets to the needy. Red Cross volun teers are working with the Public Welfare commission and Salvation Army to screen names turned in. Board mem bers were advised that dona tions of food or money would be gratefully received by the Christmas Bureau. Appreciation was expressed to Mrs. Otto Frohnmayer for the Christmas music and .'to Mrs. M. M. Huggins who pro vided the unusual and artistic decorations in keeping with the holiday season. .
