A Sundjy, Dec 13, 1959 Teen-Agers Theme of Discussion "Teen-agers" was the theme for the recent meeting of the Senior High Westminster Fel lowship of Medford Presby terian churches at the First Presbyterian church. DeAnne Taylor u In charge of the program in which both par ents and teen-agers participated. Discussing Teen-age Mar riages" were Mrs. Lester Har ris, James Rowan, Carolyn Mencke and John Frohnmay- r. "Should Our Teen-agers Come to Westminster Fellow ship? was the topic under discussion by Mrs. George Pearson, James Johnston, and Mary Kay Harris and "Should Teen-agers Have the Family Car?" was the subject for Mrs. Jack Sanborn, DeVere Taylor and Joan Fontaine. Mrs. Harold Gregory, Stan Lacy and Molly Barker dis cussed "Should the Kids Go to the Beach After the Prom?" The event was the annual Parents-Students night of the Fellowship. John Frohnmayer, moderator, welcomed the group and a worship service, typical of the usual Sunday night meeting, was held. Church school teachers and advisers were introduced with Carolyn Mencke, vice-moderator, reading the devotional. John Lacy, directed the group singirtg. Following the Scripture reading the Rev. John O. Rey nolds tof Westminster Presby terian church spoke. Dr. Leonard Mayfield, ill speaking on his recent trip to the Soviet, contrasted the life tof a teen-ager in Russia With that in this country. He men tioned that teen-age drivers In Russia were no problem as there are so very few cars. Miss Taylor closed the meet ing with prayer and refresh tnents were served. - Concert Planned By Organ Society Members and guests of the Hammond Organ Society of Southern Oregon are invited to attend the annual Christ hias party and concert to be held Sunday, December 20, at the Retu Valley Country tlub. Reservations tor the dinner may be made by calling the secretary, Elwood B. Hed berg, SPring 2-2305, ho later than December 16. A social hour is scheduled at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 9:30 Members of the society will present a music program. The meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Alice Wil lits, 129 Almond street, Ash land, at 1:30 p.m. Christmas carols will be sung by the group and gifts exchanged. Persons needing transpor tation are to meet at the Jackson hotel at 12:45 p.m. Steelhead Post, Auxiliary Plan Christmas Activities Shady Cove - A number of activities helping with Christ mas observances at the Camp White domiciliary are planned by Steelhead post, Veterans of Foreign Wars and auxiliary. Gifts will be wrapped De cember 17 and 18 for domicil iary members who receive no compensation. Christmas trees will be delivered to all the wards and they will be decor ated. On December 23 members from all VFW auxiliaries in the area will assemble at 9 a.m. to fill fruit baskets which will be taken Christmas morn ing by the VFW and auxiliary to all Camp White members. The Christmas round-up at 6:30 p.m. December 21 will be followed by the annual formal dance at 8 o'clock. Post and auxiliary mem bers and their families and friends will have a Christmas pbtluck dinner Friday, De cember 18, at 7 p.m. A gift exchange for adults and chil dren is planned. Slides To Bo Shown Mrs. Eve Prentice will show colored pictures of Hawaii and : the volcanic eruptions there. Mrs. Edward Learning is the Christmas party chair man. The post also will have a New Year's Eve dance at the hall for members and friends. At the last meeting, Mrs. Prentice gave a report oh her recent trip to the Hawaiian lslands. Mrs. Bela Molnor be came a new member of the auxiliary. Mrs. Kenheth Oliver, Thanksgiving chairman, re ported that 60 persons . at tended the Thanksgiving day dinner; It was the largest number to attend, since the post started the annual event several years ago. The auxiliary decided to aid Shady Cove Parent-Teach-ef association with Christmas treats. Mrs. Learning and Mrs. L. B. Leabo served refreshments. The next regular post and auxiliary meeting will be held January 15, since the Christmas party and New Year's dance will fall on reg ular meeting nights. Sometimes chlorine in drinking water kills house plants. Try boiling and cool ing the water. Shady Cove Grange Christmas Supper To Be December 1 9 Shady. Cove - A Christmas supper will be held by Shady Cove Grange at the school cafeteria Saturday, December 19, at 6:30 p.m. Turkey and ham will be served and those attending are to bring vegetable dishes, salad, dessert and table serv ice. Plans for the event were made at "a meeting of the Grange Home Economics club December 8 at the home of Mrs. T- M. Littlefield, Rogue River drive. ' Christmas carols and an ex change of gifts were on the program. An exchange of gifts also will be held t the ChristmaJ supper. Gifts should be mark ed for men and women, ind should not cost mora than ' 50 cents.
