Anniversary Observed By Couple A surprise party Wednes day, December 2, honored Mr. and Mrs. Sam L. Babb, 26 Lewis avenue, on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding an niversaryi The party was given by the congregation of the Advent Christian church, 24 Jackson street, following the weekly prayer meeting. The couple were married December 5, 1909, in Paonia, Colo., and moved to the valley in 1919. They made their home here until 1931 when they moved to California, re turning to Medford in 1941 Mr. Babb is farmer. For the party Mrs. Donald Clark baked and decorated a cake which was served. Mem bers of the congregation pre sented them with a white and gold table lamp for their home. Among those present for the party were Mrs. Gertrude Shide, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clark, Carol Clark, Jim Clark, Mrs. Vaughn Clark, Jim Pot ter, Howard Watkins, Cahb W. Babb, Rilla Childers, Mr. and Mrs. Len McKee, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Ross, Enid Wolff and children, Terri and Gari, Arretta Vogel, and the Rev. and Mrs. Fred O. Sapp Jr. and their children, Kevin . and Karen. . Cranberry and Apples Good Deep Dish Pie New York - (WD - The cran berry, one of America's three native, fruits, teams up de liriously with apples for I deep dish pie. Combine 6 cups of sliced fresh apples with Vh cups of fresh cranberries in a 10x6VSx 2 inch casserole. Sprinkle with a mixtur of 1 13 cups of sugar, Vz teaspoon of ground cinnamon, V cup of flbur and V teaspoon b salt. Dot with 2 tablespoons of but ter or margarine. Cover with Vs - inch - thick pastry, using 1 cup Of flour. Trim, turn under and flute edge. Cut 1 6r 3 gashes in top to allow steam to escape. Bake 15 minutes in a pre heated 425-degree oven, re duce the'heat to 350 degrees and continue baking about 40 minutes. Serves 6 to 8. rrltfd Fats New York - (DPD - Loose .frozen peas can be added to icasserole' dishes ' without de frosting, if peas are f rdzen in a block, heat in 2 tablespoons of water just long enough to separate.
