Lopez. Miss Cbisholm is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chisholm, 107 Mistle toe street, Medford, and Mr. Lopez Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Lopez, 1 Paso, Texas. Miss Chisholm is a junior at Oregon State college and a member of Delta Delta Del ta sorority. Mr. Lopez at tended Southern Oregon col lege and is now a student at the University of Oregon Den tal school in Portland. He is a member of Delta Sigma Delta, professional fraternity. No date has been set for the wedding. Frank Van Dyke To Be Speaker Frank J. Van Dyke will be guest speaker for the Jackson County Republican Women's club, on Monday, January 19. He will present his interpreta tion of the inaugural address of Governor Mark Hatfield. Mr. Van Dyke is a former speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives from Jack son county. He is immediate past president and currently a member of the Western In terstate Commission on High er Education. ; Monday's meeting will be held at Ping's Garden at 12 noon, and reservations may be made with Mrs. Ernst Ruegger, SPring 2-9958. The bride-elect, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H. Walker, Long Beach, is a graduate of Milliken high school and is attending Long Beach City College. Her fiance is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Eugene Denning of Cave Junction and is a senior at Humboldt State college in Areata, Calif. The wedding is set for June at the close of the school year and will be held at the Bap tist church in Long Beach, Miss Lillian Lewis Parents Reveal Betrothal News Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis, 714 Pennsylvania avenue, Medford, announce the en gagement of their daughter, Lillian Lewis, to Malcolm Clement Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Clement, Beav erton, Ore. Hard, who were mar ried at First Methodist church in Reno, Nev., December 30, are now in Lebanon, Ore. The bride is the former Betty Lou Stevens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. Stevens, Jack sonville, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hard, Applegate Valley. The bride's brother - in law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Crenshaw, Lebanon, at tended the couple for the double-ring ceremony. The newryweds were hon ored at a reception held at the home of the bride's par ents in Jacksonville Decem ber 31. ' Both the bride and bride groom are graduates of Jack sonville High school. Millard, formerly of Eagle Point and now of Vanderhoof, British Columbia, became the bride of Edward Charles Brophy, Grants Pass, in a ceremony held January 11 at the New Age church, Eagle Point. Mr. Brophy is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brophy, Vander hoof. The Rev. D. E. Millard offi ciated . at the three o'clock afternoon ceremony attended by relatives and close friends. Mrs. Millard played the organ wedding music. The bride wore a cocoa brown suit with white acces sories and a corsage of gar denias and lily-of-the-valley. Mrs. George Bauers attended her sister. She wore a tan and brown silk coat dress. James E. West, brother-in-law of the bride, served as best man. Following the wedding the newlyweds traveled to Van derhoof where they will make their home. The bride is a native of Jackson county and attended Eagle Point schools. She is employed by the British Co lumbia Telephone company in Vanderhoof. Mr. Brophy is a graduate of Custer, S. D., High school and is employed by the department of high ways in Vanderhoof. Weddmg Date Set by Couple; Shower Given Miss Barbara Edwards, bride-elect of Robert Eugene Robbett, was honored at a bridal shower Wednesday evening at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Ray Edwards, 323 King street. Honor Society Pledges Students Portland Miss Melva Geb hard and Miss Jonna Henson of Medford, recently were named as new members of Adignos, junior academic hon or society of Lewis and Clark College. Members of the junior and senior soci eties were recognized at an honors convocation early this month at which Dr. Max Sa velle, professor of history at the University of Washington, spoke on "Intellectual Leader ship in the Mass Society." Adignos exists to honor and promote scholarship on the campus. Standards for mem ber selection include intellec tual curiosity as well as su perior achievement. Candi dates must have recommenda tions from three faculty mem bers and be approved by a faculty committee. . Both coeds were elected to the society for their work during their freshman year.
