Neen, Van couver, B.C., supreme queen of the Daughters of the Nile, was honored at a ceremonial ' and formal banquet when she paid an official visit to Zulei ma temple here January 9 Mrs. Neen is a member of Zarah temple in Vancouver. Mrs. E. Ronald Rice, Med- ford, queen of Zuleima tem ple, presided over the cere monial, held in the afternoon at Medford Masonic temple A class of candidates was ini tiated. Mrs. Rice welcomed members and guests at the banquet which followed the ceremonial and introduced Mrs. Leona Bryant, Coquille, member of the by-laws com mittee for the supreme temple, who served as mis tress of ceremonies. The temple patrol sang a humorous song to welcome the guests and new members, the temple chorus saluted Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Need with original numbers, and the temple dancers performed, The Rev. Richard M. Jones sang, accompanied , by Ray Lewis. The Nonettes, girls vocal group from Medford High school, sang under the direction of Lynn Sjolund. Mrs. Neen spoke to the as semblage of the work which Daughters of the Nile for in connection with the Shrine hospitals. - She said that the Daughters had contributed $300,000 for hospital work during the past year, bad added to the convalescent re lief fund and endowment funds, and had purchased necessary equipment and ap pliances for cripple children. She spoke also of the out-patient work of the Shriners and Daughters, and urged members of both organiza tions to be on the watch for children in need of the care which is offered at the Shrine hospitals ; for crippled chil dren. Mrs. Morris Boughener and Mrs. V. A- Turpin were co chairmen In charge of ar rangements for Mrs. Neen's visit. Mrs. George D. Osier and Mrs. Clay M. Lee were co-chairmen in - charge of hostesses. -" The banquet was served by members of Bethels 14 and 55, International Order of Job's Daughters. The banquet tables were decorated in green and yel low, the Nile colors, and bou quets of flowers stood against large white fans. Mrs. Neen, "Mrs. Rice, Mrs. Bryant and Mrs; Hunt con tinued to California and Ne vada following Mrs. Neen's visit here for a series of visits to other temples. Mrs. Rice's gown was darker blue satin and Mrs. Hunt wore a green taffeta gown. Mrs. Rice returned to Medford yesterday after spending a week in California attending ceremonials and other functions given in Mrs. Neen's honor. ' '' By Meetings are planned this week by two PEO sisterhood chapters. Chapter BE will meet Tues day, January 20, at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Allan F. Perry, 105 Geneva street.. Her assisting hostesses will be Mrs. Orel A. Welsh and Mrs. Fletcher Fish. Mrs. J. C. Harris is in charge of the program which will honor the founders of PEO who formed the sister hood 90 years ago. Chapter CP will meet Wed nesday, January . 21, for a 12:30 o'clock luncheon and session at the home of Mrs. R. A. Elliott, 432 Ardmore avenue. Assisting will be Mrs. L. N. Parsons. Mrs. L. B. Central Point Daughters Hold Installation Rites Mistletoe Camp, Royal Neighbors of America, held joint installation of officers wtih Central Point camp on Thursday, January 15, in the Pythian hall.- Heading the list of new of ficers are Mrs. Carl Pearson, oracle of Medford camp, and Mrs. J. S. Richardson, oracle of Central Point camp. Other officers of Central Point are Mrs. Norman Stin ger, vice-oracle; Mrs. E. P. The graces are Miss Blanche Arnold, faith; Mrs. Quick Tuna Souffle Preheat the oven to 300 de grees. Then open a can of cream of celery soup and a 6'i ounce can of tuna. Heat V4 of the can of soup with the tuna. When it bubbles, turn out the flame and blend in 4 egg yolks. Beat the 4 egg whites until stiff. Fold the egg whites into the tuna mix ture and pour into a 1V4 quart casserole. Bake the souffle 50 minutes. Dilute the remaining soup with Y can of milk, add 1 tablespoon chopped pimien to and 2 tablespoons toasted slivered almonds. Serve as a sauce over the souffle. Serves 3 to 4. .. Queen Presides At First Session Miss Lynda Knips, new queen of Bethel 55, Inter national Order of Job's Daughters, presided over the last meeting of the bethel, held Tuesday at the Pythian building. Introduced were Miss Karalee Selby, retiring queen; Miss Doris Knapp, a past queen of Bethel 30 in Wisconsin, L. H. Manning, grand inner guard; Mrs. Wil liam Suit, grand marshal and Mrs. Paul Selby, past guard ian of the bethel. Installation was held for Karen Mayfield, recorder; Charlotte Ann Brown, musi cian; Connie Harris, third messenger; Patricia Shorey, treasurer and Barbara Mitch ell, inner guard. A slumber party was an nounced for January 31 at the Pythian building. Standing committees were appointed for the new term. They are auditing, Roberta Feath6rston, Beverly Bush and Catherine Brown; pledge, Bonnie Tully, Sharon Baker and Pamela Trowbridge; en tertainment, Patty Selby, Lin da Morlan and Christine Bar tels. Senior Princess Barbara Gordon announced junior bethel officers. The chapter will honor "sideliners" at a stated meet ing Thursday, January 22, at 8 p.m. in Medford Masonic temple. Mrs. Etta McKinney, worthy matron, and Herbert Morris, worthy natron, will preside. Mrs. E. G. Randolph is chairman of refreshments, with officers assisting.. The social club will hold the monthly luncheon at 12 o'clock Wednesday, January 21 at Medford Masonic hall. Mrs. Gene Dyke, president, will preside. Mrs. Lester Ettinger is chairman of the luncheon committee, with Mrs. Ray K. Bailey, Mrs. Melvin A. Krows, Mrs. Charles G. Gould and Mrs. Hans Rammin assisting. The business meeting will be followed by an afternoon of cards. All Eastern Star member's are welcome to attend. Group fo Observe Annual Guild Month Gladamson unit, Wesleyan Service guild of the First Methodist church, will meet Tuesday, January 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. S. R. Bailey, 1374 Grand avenue. This is Guild Month and the program, themed to the ob servance, will be presented by Mrs. L. A, White. Mrs. Lee Van Ausdall will lead the devotions. Senior Scouts Slate Activities Coming activities are being planned by Senior Girl Scouts of the Rogue valley. These events, coordinated through the Senior Planning board, include an area-wide service activity, program aid training and a spring conference. The program aid training sessions will be held after each Senior Planning board meeting. These sessions, open to girls who have completed or are completing their five point program, will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. after the next four board session. . Miss Bonnie Allingham, League to Study Water Problem Medford League of Women Voters will hold the January morning unit meeting Wednes day, January 21, at 9:45 a.m., at the home of Mrs. David Boals, 34 Glen. Oak court. The morning and afternoon group will also hold a joint meeting this month. Mrs. Ogden Kellogg, Gold Hill, will be in charge of the program and the topic for dis cussion will be "What to Do About Water." Last April at the National League of Wom en Voters convention was agreed to limit the study to "support of those national water policies' and practices which promote coordinated administration, equitable fi nancing, and regional or river basin planning. The league's aim is not to become experts on water de velopment but rather to gain a citizen's understanding of president, initiated the idea of the spring conference for senior girls from all over the Rogue valley. Speakers, dis cussion groups on senior prob lems and a competitive pro gram of skills is being con sidered. The date will be an nounced later. the water problem, according to Mrs. Kellogg.
