Major and Mn. Floyd L. Whiteley, who returned to the United Slate recently after spending three year at Bit burg Air Force base in Germany, are in Medford as guests of Mrs. Whiteley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Fritsch, 301 Crater Lake avenue. The Whiteley's three children, Deborah, 10, David. 8 and Teresa, 3, are also here and the older two have enrolled in school. Major Whiteley piloted an F100 fighter plane for t'e United Stales Air Force his first two years in Germany and for the last year was plans officer for Bitburg. largest tactical base the USAF has in Europe. He will leave Medford tomorrow to report for duty at Tyndall Field in Florida, with Mrs. Whiteley and the children remaining here for the present. In June the officer will report for duty in Texas, and the family will join him there. ' V Recognition Planned For Wesleyan Service Guilds Special recognition is being given the three units of Wes leyan Service guild by First Methodist church in observ ance ' of January as Guild month. Sunday, January 25, Mrs. Richard Stratton, vice-president of the Susannah Wesley unit, will speak briefly dur ing the church services. Ush ers for both services will be guild members and the guilds will be hostesses at the cof fee hour that morning. The Wesleyan Service guilds are organized within the Woman's Division of Christian Service of the Meth ' odist church to provide a ' channel through which em ployed women may partici pate in the Division program offering "spiritual enrich ment. Christian fellowship, and the opportunity to take an active part 'in developing a world Christian commu nity," it is stated. Guild meetings are held evenings' and week ends, times wnen the employed woman is usually free to at tend. The program of the Guild meets the needs and . interests . of the employed woman and helps her to make a specific contribution as a Christian citizen in her church and community, and in the business, industrial or professional field in which she works, according to Mrs. Charles Adamson, Medford, secretary of the Oregon Con ference Wesleyan Service guild. Miss Annette Gray is presi dent of Ruth Esther unit; Mrs. A. C. James of the Gladam son unit; and Miss Dixie Dix ' on of the Susannah Wesley unit. This year special interests include public health work in India, cunic ana . public health work in Korea, and National College for Christian Work ers, Kansas City, Missouri. Foremost conference proj ect this year is the construc tion in Salem of the Louise Bunch-Beulah Faber Memo rial chapel at The. Methodist Home for senior citizens. This chapel is being built in honor of these two women whd gave a great deal of their time to the work of the Wesleyan Service guild and the Wom an s Society of Christian Service. The Methodist Home is a project of these organ izations. 1 In cooperation with the Woman's Society of Christian Service, Guild members re ceived credit in the foreign mission study class conducted in October by Miss Laura Heist, returned missionary from India, on "The Middle East." They participated in the Christian social relations study "Understanding Other matures" which was held in September. Plans are being made for a study course on "Isaiah" which Dr. Gertrude Boyd Crane, professor of re ligion at Pacific University, Forest Grove; will teach be ginning February 17. Mrs. L. A. Johnson, Medford, was elected grand emir; P. Kenneth Bley, Yreka, Calif., sheik; Dan Kadin, mahedi; Joe W. Fritsch, reelected sec retary; Carl Fichtner, treasur er; Rae Jack, satrap; and Charles A. Lasher, sahib. A chili supper was pre pared and served by the temple's Eighth Order crew composed of LeRoy Cline, Francis Hibbard, Max. Hawks and Earl Locke. Edward Bost wick was general chairman. The newly elected officers will be installed by Imperial Representative G. Hugh Welsh, Grants Pass, in cere monies to be held jointly with Idella Rogue santha, Nomads of Avrudaka. An imperial san tha deputy and past regent, Mrs. Carl Fichtner, will in stall the nomads. The annual ceremonies will be held in the Pythian building here at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 7. Mrs. Deller is the former Tobjr Kay Fox, daughter of Mrs. William Em erson Fox, Hollywood, Calif., and the late Mr. Fox. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Deller, Klam ath Falls. The Deller-Fox rites took place December 31 at First Methodist church, with the Rev. Herschel Hall officiating. The Rev. L. W. May gave the bride in marriage. The bride wore a gown of clipped Chantilly lace in rose pattern made with billowing skirt and close-fitting bodice. Her illusion veil was held by a filigree crown of seed pearls and she carried a white orchid on a white' Bible. Mrs. Eugene Long was ma-tron-of-hbnor and other at tendants were Miss Lois May and Mrs. William Sim, cousin of the bride from Albany, Ore." They wore pink chiffon frocks with velvet and pearl trim and carried pink carna tions encircled with frosted fir sprigs and Oregon grape. Kathy Hopkins, San Fran cisco, was flower girl and Robin Newport, Tangent, was ring bearer. Both are cousins of the bride. Miss Sally Schur man, Portland, and Miss Christina Leach, Ashland, lighted the candles. The flow er girl and candlelighters all wore pink chiffon frocks. M. E. Deller, Portland, was best man for his brother and George Brandt and James Southwell seated the guests. Mrs. Frank Davis was or ganistand soloists were Mrs. William Allen and Robert Schomp, Orange, Calif., cous in of the bride. Silvered evergreen, holly and cones decorated the church, and pink and white was the color theme for the reception, held in the Fire side room of the church. The bride's table was covered with a handmade cloth, a gift from her grandmother, Mrs. James Fox, Tangent. Mrs. Ralph Leach cut the wedding cake and Mrs. Lawrence May pour ed coffee. Mrs. Heidenreich presented a past noble grand pin and a gift from the 1958 officers to the retiring noble grand, Vleet, Eugene served punch and Mrs. M. F. Deller, Port land, took charge of the guest book. For her daughter's wed ding Mrs. Fox wore a pink lace knit suit with matching sequin hat. The bridegroom's mother was attired in pink brocaded satin worn with small hat. For traveling the bride wore an ensemble of peacock blue with matching hat and fur jacket. . . The newlyweds are living at 415 Holly street, Ashland. The bride will be graduated from Southern Oregon col lege, in June, and Mr. Deller is a junior.
