Crater chapter of DeMolay officiated at the crowning cer emony. Those installed in the beth el choir are Nancy Clark, Melba Graham, Lee Hamilton, Cathy Harsh, Vicki Lester, Rena Offutt, Judy Patterson, Cora Belle Ravenor, Sharon Walters and Elaine Wilson. The installing queen, Miss Linda Warren, was assisted by past queens of Bethel 38 who served as installing offi cers. They were: guide, Mrs. Gordon Mekvold; marshal, Miss Kay Askwith; chaplain, Mrs. Richard Stratton; record er, Mrs. Gene anook; senior custodian. Miss Helen Hood; junior custodian, Mrs. Robert Lance. Mrs. Darrel Greb, a past princess of the bethel was in stalling musician. S h e r y 1 Koellner officiated as lady of the lights and helped with the guest book. . Dave Brown, master coun cillor of Crater chapter of DeMolay, was assisted by Ros coe Day, Dick Herdstjuth, John Martin," Richard Lichti, Daymon Barnard, Boyd Hen ry, Charles Black, Leslie Goff and Willis Williams. Visitors included Miss Lyn da Knips, queen of Bethel 55; Miss Marion Parsons, junior princess, bethel 14; Mrs. Carl Elhart, guardian, Bethel 14; past grand guardian and past guardian of Bethel 22; Morris W t-4 I ' -I 1 ' I Miss Donna Burnett (Landis photo) Boughner, associate guardian, Bethel 14; Mrs. William Suit, grand marshal; Mrs. Merril Harsh, matron; and Russell Fair, patron, Nevita chapter, and DeMolay Dad, Crater chapter. Other distinguished guests present were H. P. Jewett, past associate guardian. Beth el 38; Mrs. William Aswith, and Mrs. Paul Snook, past guardians, Bethel 38. . L. C. Scott, acting for Wil bur Smith, worshipful master, Masonic lodge 135, presented the newly installed queen an arm bouquet of carnations from the Central Point lodge, During the ceremony Mrs. Norman Gail, Mrs. Roy Es kew, and Mrs. Paul Malloy, accompanied by Mrs. Bruce sang several selections. Mar ilyn Smith and Susan Smith, .cousins of the queen, brought in the crown and Bible. The theme, "Oregon's Cen tennial" was used in decorat ing the chapter room and the dining room in shades of lav ender and white. Two huge white wagon wheels were en twined with Orgon grape, and milk glass vases and a butter churn were also filled with the state's flowers. The serv ing tables were covered with lavender cloths, and an oxen team and - covered wagon loaned by Mrs. Don Braund, made an effective centerpiece. A huge cake, decorated in the queen's honor, was cut and Mrs. Lyman Smith was recommended for the office of treasurer of the Oregon State council, Epsilon Sigma Alpha international sorority, at the January meeting of Alpha Lambda chapter. She is now serving as state parlia mentarian. Elections will be held at the state convention here in April. Mrs. Albert Lange was ap pointed to fill the office of parliamentarian for the local chapter. The sum of $200 was sent to the Children's Hospital School in Eugene. Raising money for the school is the state project of the Oregon chapters. This money was raised during the annual sale of Brown & Haley mints. Several chairmen will soon be announced for the Easter seal drive, which the sorority sponsors in Jackson county. Money was also given to the Salvation Army for the Christmas project of "food for needy families." Mrs. C. W. Gallup was a guest for the meeting. Mrs. Smith was hostess and co hostesses were Mrs. David Hendrix and Mrs. Ernie Lytle. A baked food sale is scheduled for Valentine's day. Chapter CG Plans Meeting Wednesday Chapter CG of the sister hood will meet at 1 pjn. Wednesday, January 21, at the home of Mrs. Stewart Mil ne, 220 North Keeneway drive. The assisting hostess will be Mrs. Edmund L. Sim mons. A Founders' day program will be in charge of the presi dent, Mrs. Kenneth Campbell. served. " On the refreshment com mittee were Mrs. Scott Ham ilton and daughters, Rachel and Lee; Mrs. Everett Rave nor and daughter, Cora Belle; Mrs. E. O. Graham and daugh ter, Melba. The decorations were arranged by the queen's mother, Mrs. Burnett, and the dining table by Mrs. Hamil ton, Mrs. Ravenor and Mrs. Graham. A dance and reception fol lowed the meeting. . The Rev. Joseph Munshaw offici ated at the double ring cere mony attended by 75 rela tives and friends. - The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cear ley, 30 West Third street, Eagle Point. Mr. Phillpott is a son of Mrs. Jane Phillpott, 725 Alder street, Medford, and Orville Phillpott, Vale, Ore. Birds of paradise, holly, Guild To Begin Study of East Susannah Wesley unit of Wesleyan Service guild, First Methodist church, will meet Monday, January 19, at 8 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Eugene G. Ray, Ross lane. Miss Dixie Dixon, presi dent, will present the first of a three-part study on the Middle East, the interdenomi national foreign mission study planned for this year. Miss Dixon will use the book "Middle East Pilgrimage" written by R. Park Johnson, field representative in the Middle East for the Presby terian board of missions. She plans to present a brief his tory of the peoples of the area and special attention will be given to Egypt and the coun tries of the Arabian penin sula. , Mrs. Oliver P. Taylor will lead the devotional program for the evening. An invitation is extended to any employed woman to be a guest of the group at this session. She carried red rosebuds on a white Bible. Miss Joyce Cearley was honor attendant for her sis ter and Miss Barbara Hender son was bridesmaid. Miss Cearley wore a red taffeta dress with overskirt of red chiffon. Miss Henderson wore a green frock. Their corsages were white carnations. Kim Allen, Ashland, was flower girl, and Michael Allen nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer. The flower girl wore a red taffeta dress trimmed with white daisies and carried a red and white basket. Walter Peterson, Medford, served as best man while Alf Paterson, Medford, and Phil lip Clarke, Redding, Calif., brother-in-law of the bride groom, seated the guests. Folllowing the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. George Allen cut the cake assisted by Mrs. Jack Chamberlain, Fortuna, Calif Both are sisters of the bride. Miss Cearley presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Pearl Burns poured the coffee. The couple are making their home at IllVt West 14th street, Medford. The bride attended Eagle Point schools.
