H38 SHADY COVE Club Plans Dinner Shady Cove-Trail-A turkey dinner will be served at Our Lady of Fatima church hall in Shady Cove Sunday, Nov 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dinner will be Dut on bv the members of Our Lady of Fa tima club and proceeds will be used for work on the hall In connection with the din ner, there will be several booths including a fancy work booth, fish pond for children, and baked goods and candy booth. The HEC of the Shady Cove Grange will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the home of Mrs, A. B. Clark of Big Butte creek. Trail, for" a luncheon and business meeting. Mrs Reed McKay of Trail will be co-hostess. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Clark and Mrs. Clark's sister, Mrs Beatrice Browder, who is vis iting the Clark's from San Diego, have returned from a trip to Washington, Boise, Ida., and Portland. Mrs. Dorothv Cooper of Soap Lake, Wash., has been a house guest of Mr. and Mrs C. M. Wells of Shady Cove. Mr. and Mrs. Lwrence San derson of Trail are parents of a girl born last week in Medford hospital. The baby weighed 5 pounds, 12 ounces and has been named Jacque- lyn Sue. Maternal grandpar ents are Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Walls of El Monte, Calif., and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. L. Sanderson of Prospect. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bartuss of Shady Cove entertained at their home Saturday with a dinner party for the 31st wed ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bartuss. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wentjar of Central Point, Mr. and Mrs. William Callahan of Medford, Dr. and Mrs. Art Schonberg of Camp White, Dr. and Mrs. Verne Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Miles Williams of Shady Cove. Officers were elected at the Nov. 1 meeting of the Shady Cove Grange. Officers are master, Ed, Houston; overseer, Edwin Strother; lecturer, Del la Littlefield; steward, Cecil Kee; assistant steward. Reed McKay; chaplain, Sadie Van derlip; treasurer, Sara Stroth er; secretary, Anna Beryl Kee; gatekeeper, Johnie Mi nor; Ceres, Thelma Reinning; Pomona, Alyce Cross; Flora, Nellie Motschenbacher; lady assistant steward, Nannie Mc Kay; executive committee, Edgar Vandrlip, Travis Lit tlefield and Phil Motschenbacher. Newcomers to Shady Cove are Mr. and Mrs. Ludo Grieve and Mrs. Grieve's sister, Miss Dency Manning, who have bought the former Frank Al len residence. The Grieve's lived in Prospect for several years where he was employed by Copco. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Stroth er of Shady Cove were hosts at their home Sunday for a coffee hour and social period for Mrs. Eve Nye, Republican candidate for representative from this district. The Elk-Trail PTA will hold a meeting and open house Ad teachers' reception at the Elk-Trail school to night. At the close of the meeting, Gary Monical will present a musical program with the band and chorus. ILLINOIS VALLEY Group Elects President By RUTH RAUSCH Cave Junction-Deana Conn was elected president of the Cave Junction Community 54th wedding anniversary. Two Shady Cove residents who have undergone major surgery recently are progress ing well in Medford hospitals. Mrs. Wendell Stalker is at Roeue Valley hospital and Mrs. Frances Miller is at Sa cred Heart. The Rogue Wonderland as sociation will meet at the Rogue River Lodge Tuesday, Nov! 11. starting at 9 p.m. The meeting is open to all businessmen with places of business on Highway 62.
