Police including detective. fluent in. Spanish, boarded the vessel for four hours Wednes day, inspected the furnaces and questioned the 36 crew member. Cm Still Open Detective Lt. ' Police investigation of the ship's engine room revealed that the blast of flame and hot air would burn persons close by to a crisp if any one of the three boilers were open while they were steamed up. Body Said Burned I want to repeat again," Silfa said, "that on orders of Dictator Rafael L. Trujillo and his ex perts in political assassination. the body of Dr. Jesus de Galin dez was thrown into the firebox of a boiler of a Dominican steamship Fundacion and burned to a crisp to remove any trace of this outspoken critic of the Trujillo regime." Galindez was the Spanish Basque lecturer at Columbia University. He was last seen on March 12. The instructor had written a dissertation critical of Trujillo, for 25 years ruler of the Dominican Republic. Vari ous Dominican officials have vehemently denied the charges. Cancellation Threat Ends for Met Opera New York (U.R) The Metro politan Opera Association and the American Guild of Musical Artists announced agreement on critical matters ' Wednesday night, ending a threatened can cellation of the 1956-57 opera season. No details of the last minute agreement were disclosed. . Anthony' Bliss, president ot the association, said he was "suf ficiently optimistic" about the agreement to go ahead with plans for a new opera season and to borrow 8500,000 of needed funds. The guild was reported to . have sought an increase in the $1.70 and hour rehearsal rate . for choristers. The Metropolitan had argued it could not afford the increase.
