Pattee, re turned missionary from the Philippine islands, is scheduled to speak Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the First Church of the Naz arene, Holly and First sts. He will also speak Sunday morning in the Ashland Church of the Nazarene, and Sunday evening in the Prospect "Chapel in the Pines." The Saturday night meeing will be a Zone rally of Southern Oregon churches, and will follow work shop sessions held in the after noon by the missionary organ izations of the respective churches. A veteran missionary, Rev. Pattee was formerly active in the work among the people of China until the Communist con trol of that country forced him to leave. Restricted from China, he moved to the Philippine Is lands in 1950. He recently ar rived in the United States for his third furlough. Accompanying Rev. Pattee to the States are Mrs. Pattee and their youngest daughter, Grace Ann. While in this country, the Pattees will make their home in Pasadena, Calif. service. 6:45 p.m.. Medford First Methodists To Open Classes; Speaker Named Two new kindergarten classes will open at the First Methodist church Sunday, March 18 to ac commodate the increasing en rollment and attendance, accord ing to Mrs. Gordon C. Morris, superintendent of the children's division of the church school. At 9:30 a.m., a class for six-year-old children will be estab lished under the leadership of Mrs. Riley C. Cook. The 11:30 a-m., Kindergarten class will be for children from 4 to 6 years of age and is established under the leadership of Mrs.' Frank Van Dyke. The classes are in addition to the preschool classes already, being held, church offi cials emphasize. Guest Speaker The Rev. Darrel Berg, minis ter .of the Ronald Methodist church in Seattle, Wash., will be guest preacher for the Lenten Sunday evening services at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. 'Glory of Christ' Is Presbyterian Holy Week Theme At both services Sunday morn ing at First Presbyterian church Dr. D. Kirkland West will speak on the theme, 'in the Cross of Christ I Glory." This message is the third in a series leading up to Holy week and Easter. The' Chancel choir will sing, di rected by Allan Lehl. About 30 new members were received into the church a week ago by the session of the church, and Sunday at the 11 a.m. serv ice adults will be publicly wel comed. At . the Palm Sunday service young people will be re ceived at the first worship hour. College-age young people are asked to notice that a new group is being formed for their age named the Geneva fellowship. Young people up to the age. of 25 years ' are invited to attend the 9:45 a.m. worship service, and then make their way to the Chapel mortuary where fellow ship and a study group will be held. Eastwood Church To Close Program Next Sunday evening will mark ,the end of the "Adventure in Missions," which has been the center of interest at East wood Baptist church, North Keene Way at Ridgeway dr.,-for the past six weeks. The evening will begin with a snack supper at '6 p.m., study classes for the primary, junior, junior high and adul age groups-will, follow, at 6:30 p m., and a concluding pro gram of sharing will begin at 7:20 p.m. Theme for the study group lias concerned Indian Americans.
