4 Welfare Workers Ask for Materials Used clothing and material for quilts are needed by Valley View Seventh-Day Adventist church welfare workers, accord ing to Mrs. Will Darby, leader, of Route 1, Medford. Anyone who has articles to donate may call Mrs- Darby at telephone 3-3797, for pickup service. Because of recent emergency s calls for flood victims a great deal of bedding and clothing was given by the workers and supplies were depleted, the lead er pointed out. Members of the church have also contributed to their famine and disaster fund and Seventh Day Adventists across the coun try have been asked to give over a million dollars to have on hand to aid needy persons. Medford and Valley View Seventh-Day Adventist youth are conducting a week of prayer. G Holy Week Services Slated at Theater " Throughout Holy week noon day services will be conducted at the Craterian theater under the auspices of Medford Minis terial association, from 12:30 to 12:55 p.m. The services are being ar ranged so that workers in the downtown area may take ad vantage of the brief devotional period during the week. - Ministers and musicians from various churches in the city will participate. The public is invited Teaching Driving Virtues in Church Led by the board of educa tion of the Methodist church, a number of churches and' church agencies are now reminding their congregations and their young people of the necessity of "good driving habits" as a Christian virtue. "Careful driving conserves human life, and it again places emphasis on the value of the individual both important from the viewpoint of Christian teach ing," notes one leader. The Meth odist board is placing a series of lessons on the courtesies and safety of driving in some of its church school publications, em phasizing the Christian values involved. California Pastor To Begin Meetings Central Point Rev. E. " R. Burnete of Napa, Calif., will be gin a series of meetings at the Community Bible church, Cen tral Point, Sunday morning. March 18, The Rev. Mr. Burnette is pas tor of a Napa church. Besides his schedule with his church, the Rev. Mr. Burnette is a Bible conference speaker and evangelist. The public is invited to attend the meetings ' which will con tinue nightly except Saturday, and will close Sunday, March 25. The evening meetings will be held at 7:45-p.m. ' Wild game provides up to 250,- 000,000 pounds of edible meat each year in the U.S. St. Helen's Hall Chaplain To Speak Guest preacher at St. Mark's Episcopal church at the 11 a.m. service Sunday will be he Rev. Robert Burton, chaplain of St. Helen's hall, Episcopal school for girls, in Portland. The Rev. Mr. Burton will speak on "The Philosophy of Christian Education," and will be guest of honor at . a coffee hour following the service, when he. will meet with parents- of prospective candidates for the school. He is expected to arrive in Medford Saturday and will be the hcuse guest of friends while in the city. ...... n ears News" and Notes 1 From Camp White Friday,- March - 16. -1938 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE EVEN First Christians Announce Services Special meetings will be held at First Christian church at both services Sunday and each night next week, Monday through Fri day. The services will be conducted by Robert Lane, a ministerial student at Northwest Christian college in Eugene. Presently, he is pastor of a church in the Wil lamette valley. The daily services will begin with a songfest at 7:30 p.m. Mu sical numbers will be presented by the Chancel choir under di rection of Herbert S. Daniels. Anyone . interested is invited. No offerings taken at the week- night services- There are four known species of cedar trees. Black came to Camp White VAD in July, 1949 upon closure of the Bend VA office, serving here as Chief of contact division until 1953 when he was appointed to his present position here. The judges who will begin their task at 8 p.m. are to be Professor O. J.
