The Youna Child and the child in the 'teens, requires rela tively more calcium and vitamin D than the adult, for normal growth and development, par ticular the child with a tendency to enlarged tonsils and adenoids, weak ankels or potential flat feet, fatigue posture or spinal curvature. -..-' Any one whose teeth decay too rapidly or seem soft and crumble easily should take an optimal daily ration of calcium and vita min D. - . . We are still groping In the dark for a solution to the mys tery of allergy. Whatever its pre cise pathology may be, It can do do possible harm in any case to give the calcium and vitamin D prophylaxis-a fair trial supple ment the diet with an optimal daily ration for, say .three months and see. In a great many cases of hay fever, spasmodic asthma, recur ring hives (urticaria) and giant hives (angioneurotic edema), which are perhaps of allergic character, an optimal dally ra tion of calcium and vitamin D brings relief or prolonged free dom from attacks. CIO Committees Spend $1,327,774 Daring Campaign Washington, Jan. 10 (U.R) The two political action commit tees fostered by the Congress of Industrial Organizations r e -eelved $858,822 last year and spent $1,327,774, reports tiled with the house of representatives showed today. The National Citizens PAC had contributions of $380,306 and spent $378,424, Its report laid. The CIOPAC received $378, (10 for its "individual contribu tions account" and spent $470, 352 from the same fund. It had in apparent deficit In addition to 21 ,248 In unpaid bills as of De sember 81, In its trade union account, which wag frozen after the na tional political conventions to lomply with the Smith-Connally ict, the CIOPAC showed 1944 iontrlbutions of $101,808, expen ditures of $478,498 and a year md balance of $546,297. Most of ihe trade union contributions M IS - GOOD FOR tetter) is allergic in most In stances I do not know, but I have been much impressed by the im provement that occurs in many cases in infants, children and adults after a few weeks of opti mal calcium and vitamin D feed ing, for, remember, this Is all nutrition. There are some thousands of mature adults who have experi enced grateful relief from - leg- cramps (tetany) at night, thanks to an optimal calcium and vita min D ration, and a good many children have been relieved of "growing pains" by eating extra calcium and vitamin D. From favorable reports re ceived from readers throughout this country and abroad it would seem that calcium and vitamin D taken as a supplement to the diet lessens allergic sensitivity in most Instances, regardless of the form or character of allergic manifestation. It is not a cure, however. For quick relief of any kind of allergic reaction or mani festation, from hyperesthetlc rhi nitis to migraine, I recommend emergency use of tablets con taining potassium chloride com bined with ascorbic acid (vita min C), in quickly soluble form. One may carry a few tablets in pocket to take, in water. In the emergency, Distressing hot flashes that make some women miserable during the menopause seem to be' moderated or checked in many Instances by. calcium and vitamin D. - " ' QUESTIONS St ANSWERS Grade A Raw Wa hava used Grade A Raw milk for years, and we are all very fond of it.
