(H.D.E.) Speaking of medical author ities and their prodigious output of medical books, it's amazing what a lot of volumes one can collect each season without find ing anything new or original. I still say a patient with any of the complaints you mention, will do as well in one part of North America as In any other part of the country, whatever the season or climate or weather may be, provided (a that the patient or those responsible for .the. care of ' the patient be not obsessed with fear of cold, damp ness, etc., and (b) that the patient spend ai much time as possible out. doors and exposes as much skin as possible to what, ever sunshine or skyshlne or daylight there may be. That's all there is to the cllm te question, I believe. Kid yourself all you like, brother, about my inconsistency. DUIe Co.) against rival EDES forces re treating into the mountains of northwestern Greece, it was dis closed today, as British troops battled to dislodge other ELAS units from strongholds in Athens and Piraeus. - 1 Gen. Napoleon Zervas, leader Ot the EDES, appealed urgently to the British for help in fighting the ELAS in his territory. The British have not acted upon his proposal! but Premier George Papandreou, whose government the British are supporting, appar ently welcomed the EDES into the government camp today by vigorously defending their fail ure to disarm in accordance with orders Issued to all guerrillas by the British command. The ELAS are troops of the EAM, the ; national liberation front. The EDES, or national democratic front, stands to the right of the EAM politically, and the EAM accuses the EDES of fascist tendencies, The British delayed, probably until Monday, a reply to the ELAS latest peace proposals, for reasons which cannot be pub lished. A British spokesman said the situation was viewed with "restrained optimism." British military observers said that bqtween 13,000 and 20,000 ELAS troops had captured at least two towns In their drive which carried them at one point some 15 miles into territory in the Eplms previously allocated to the EDES. Before their at tacks, some 12,000 EDES troops were falling back into the moun tains honeycombed with defen sive positions built during the German occupation. S. S. Comfort, as it docked here last night and the wounded today were taken to Birmingham Gen eral hospital. Later they will be sent to hos pitals over the country to be nearer their homes.
