Wold's sympathetic Interpretation, tha beau ty of simplicity waa shown and the message of the true spirit of Christ mas reached every heart. In acceptance of the gracloua Invi tation of the board of directors of the Girls Community club, the meeting waa held In that club's pleasant as sembly room on North Bartlett street with the president, Mrs. B. G. Hard ing, presiding. In the spirit of the season, many little gift were provid ed by the members, with the hope of bringing a little more happiness to some children's hearts. Many Spending Xmas Holidays In Other Cities With the approach of Christmas end the New Year many residents of Medford are I eft-ring this week end to spend the holidays away from home. Carpen ter and two children, Harlow and Julie, left Friday evening by train for Pasadena, Cal., and will spend the Yule season with Mrs. Carpenter's mother, Mrs. John Gilbert Blue. They will return to Medford January 8 or 4. Miss Dorothy McLean, teach er at the Valley school who Is mak ing ber home with the Carpenters, left Saturday to spend the holidays at ber borne In Portland. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Jerome left Fri day night for San Francisco for a holiday visit, and Dr. and Mrs. W. E. Lantls also left Friday evening, for Portland. Mr. and Mrs. George T. Girl Scouts of Troop 7. Washington school, will sing Christmas carols this evening to the members of the community committee. The girls are to meet at the public library prompt ly at 5:45 o'clock and will be taken home in cars Immediately upon con clusion of the carols. Mrs. McCracken Elected President Medical Auxiliary At the regular meeting Wednesday of the auxiliary to the Jackson Coun ty Medical society held at the home of Mrs. Charles Tt Sweeney, Mrs. Gor don McCracken of Ashland was elect, ed president for the new term. Mrs. McCracken succeeds Mrs. R. . Stearns. Other officers elected were Mrs. Dwlght H. Flndley, vice-president, and Mrs. Harvey Woods, secretary treasurer. The election of officers followed a routine business session, and after wards a program waa presented and refreshments were served. Two piano numbers were played by Miss Imogtrn Wallace and Mrs. Jamea C. Hayea of fered vocal selections.
