An amendment to tho mulct law bill, providing that It became effec tive January I, 191t, was carried In tho senate by a vote of 30 to 19. The vote on tho orglnal bill was then called for. Uy a vote of 27 to 22, tho senate rejected tho committee report on the mulct law recommending Indefinite postponement. This was the second victory of tho day Tor the "drjs" leaders.
