ed. Tho purpose of tho bill Is to pro

tion on the constitutional amendment
adopted this morning. Hot Iv meas

An amendment to tho mulct law
bill, providing that It became effec
tive January I, 191t, was carried In
tho senate by a vote of 30 to 19. The
vote on tho orglnal bill was then
called for.
Uy a vote of 27 to 22, tho senate
rejected tho committee report on the
mulct law recommending Indefinite
postponement. This was the second
victory of tho day Tor the "drjs"
leaders. Consideration of the meas
ure to ropcnl tho mulct law wnM Im
