Heppner Gazette-Times, Heppner, Oregon Wednesday, May 25,2011 Get ready to celebrate Get ready to cel ebrate with the Heppner community on Friday, June 10 with a sidewalk sale and special treats offered up by our local merchants. There will also be opportunities to participate in the Welly Toss team and individual competitions. The Bank o f East ern Oregon will be sponsor ing a barbecue from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be children’s games and small dog races fol lowing the barbecue in the afternoon. The com m unity play, “The Star Theatre in Film and on Stage,” (writ- ten by Doris Brosnan and Sharon Harrison) will have their first performance at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets will be $10 per person and will be available starting on Wednesday, May 25 at the Bank o f Eastern Oregon, Community Bank, Mur ray’s and the chamber of fice. Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to buy tickets early before they sell out. Mark your c a l endars now and plan on participating in this great community event. OSU Morrow County Extension hosts open house - THREE No more house The Oregon State University Morrow County Extension Service will host an open house to celebrate 100 years o f service. The open house will also serve to bid farewell to office coordinator Darcee Mitchell and welcome the new coordinator, Ashley Mund. This will be a great opportunity for Ashley to meet the folks o f Morrow County. All are invited to the Morrow County extension office from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 26 for a catered pulled-pork lunch, or just to say hi. The extension office is located at 54173 Hwy 74.
