Heppner athletic director Creg Grant says it’s the first time in his recollection that the golf team has brought home a state trophy. N a tio n a l M e rit Scholarship finalists are students who are chosen from across the country for their outstanding aca demic achievement. Julia was chosen from a pool of more than 16,000 outstand ing stu d en ts th roughout the country, and she is one o f only 173 finalists in the state o f Oregon to receive the award for 2011.
