Stir in water, orange juice, but ter, orange peel and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat about five minutes or until mixture thickens and boils, stirring con stantly. Cover surface with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until just cool, about 1 hour. Stir in toasted coconut and sour cream. Spoon into pie shell In same bowl, beat Vi whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over filling. Garnish w ith 1 /4c toast ed coconut and almonds. Chill 1-2 hours. 1 nine-inch baked pie shell Filling lc. sugar 3T cornstarch 1 c water 1 /4c orange juice 1 /4c butter 1T grated orange peel 3 egg yolks 1 /2c coconut toasted 1 /2c Dairy sour cream 1 /2c whipping cream, whipped Topping 1 /2c whipping cream 2T powdered sugar 1 /4c coconut, toasted 2T sliced almonds, toasted In medium sauce pan combine Chocolate, Pudding Cake - Melissa Jo Monaco (3rd Place Adult Division Grease and flour 10 inch fluted tube pan. Ice cream for the celebration was donated by Tillamook Company in Boardman. - Contributed Photo WCCC Ladies’ Jo Pettyjohn Memorial Tournament held Thirty-three ladies played in the annual Jo Pet tyjohn Memorial Tourna ment June 12-14 at WCCC. Co-chairs Sandi Hanna and Cindi Doherty reported many players participated from through out Oregon and Washington. Christy Herman re corded the low round of the tournament on Sunday, 65, and set a new tournament course record for 18 holes. Christy was low gross of the field. Nancy Propheter won low net of the field with a 113. Peterson, Peck awarded Oregon Farm Bureau Memorial Scholarships The Oregon Agri cultural Education Foun dation (OAEF) announces that the following Morrow County students have been named recipients for the Oregon Farm Bureau Me morial Scholarship. Cory Peter of lone plans to attend Eastern Oregon University, major- ing in ag business and crop science and will receive a $1,000 scholarship. He is the son of Richard and Anita Peterson. Sherilyn Peck of Heppner plans to attend Eastern Oregon University, majoring in agriculture/ soil management, and will receive a $750 scholarship. She is the daughter of Den nis and Debbie Peck. This scholarship program is open to any Or egon high school graduate preparing for an agriculture or forestry-related career. Students attending institu tions outside Oregon are also eligible. Boardman Thunder 4th of July parade to be held Pam D ocken is once again heading up the parade for the Boardman Chamber of Commerce’s 2009 Boardman Thunder, in hopes of making it the Biggest Little Parade that Boardman has ever seen. Build a float, orga nize a band, dig out your best costumes, saddle up your horses, or get your antique vehicles out of stor age and join us on Saturday, July 4 at 11 a.m. on North Main Street in Boardman. The parade will begin on Front Street just east of Main Street, head north on Main Street to Colum bia to Second Street then down Boardman Avenue and finish on East Board- man Avenue just behind C&D Drive In.
