Thirty-three ladies
played in the annual Jo Pet­
tyjohn Memorial Tourna­
ment June 12-14 at WCCC.
Co-chairs Sandi Hanna and
Cindi Doherty reported
many players participated

and Washington.
Christy Herman re­
corded the low round of the
tournament on Sunday, 65,
and set a new tournament
course record for 18 holes.
Christy was low gross of
the field. Nancy Propheter
won low net of the field
with a 113.

Peterson, Peck awarded Oregon
Farm Bureau Memorial Scholarships
The Oregon Agri­
cultural Education Foun­
dation (OAEF) announces
that the following Morrow
County students have been
named recipients for the
Oregon Farm Bureau Me­
morial Scholarship.
Cory Peter of lone
plans to attend Eastern
Oregon University, major-
ing in ag business and crop
science and will receive
a $1,000 scholarship. He
is the son of Richard and
Anita Peterson.
Sherilyn Peck of
Heppner plans to attend
Eastern Oregon University,
majoring in agriculture/
soil management, and will
receive a $750 scholarship.
She is the daughter of Den­
nis and Debbie Peck.
This scholarship
program is open to any Or­
egon high school graduate
preparing for an agriculture
or forestry-related career.
Students attending institu­
tions outside Oregon are
also eligible.

annual Vacation Bible School on June 22-26 from 6-8

Boardman Thunder 4th
of July parade to be held

parade for the Boardman
Chamber of Commerce’s
2009 Boardman Thunder,
in hopes of making it the
Biggest Little Parade that
Boardman has ever seen.
Build a float, orga­
nize a band, dig out your
best costumes, saddle up
your horses, or get your
antique vehicles out of stor­
age and join us on Saturday,
July 4 at 11 a.m. on North
Main Street in Boardman.
The parade will begin on
Front Street just east of
Main Street, head north
on Main Street to Colum­
bia to Second Street then
down Boardman Avenue
and finish on East Board-
man Avenue just behind
C&D Drive In.
Participants can
pick up a registration form
from the Chamber office to
