Both the Heppner High School boys’ and girls' teams went to district. The girls' team went on to the state 2A competition March 2-6 at Pendleton.. The HHS girls lost to Amity on Monday and were to play Monroe on Wednesday. Gribskov led the lone crew with 12 points, followed by Brad Burright with 11 points. Bur right also brought down 13 rebounds and grabbed a steal from the Falcons. Mark McElligott added nine points, six rebounds, six steals, six assists and one blocked shot for the Cardinals. W e S b in g The Heppner Mustangs boys’ “C” team finished its season with convincing wins over Spray, 51- 22, and Umatilla, 68-42. The Mus tangs had a very good year under first year coach Kenny Eckman, with a 12-4 overall record. Against Spray on Thursday, Feb. 11, the Mustangs got six points each from Justin Wood and Michael McCabe tojump out to a 19-6 lead after one. David Norton scored six points Y2k seminar If you are concerned about the potential "Year 2000 Crisis" and how it may affect your business, then this BMCC class is for you. The BMCC Small Business Development Center is offering a free seminar focusing on the Y2K technology problem. Taught by the Electronic Commerce Resource Center out of Bremerton, WA, the course will help identify the actions business owners need to take today to protect themselves "tomorrow." According to John Fletcher, director of the SBDC, participants will also receive free' disks for testing their computers in a simulated Y2K rollover and Y2K compliance information packets. The class will be held Friday, March 5, with sessions in Pendleton and Hermiston. The first session will be held from 10 a m. to noon at the SBDC office in Pendleton, 37 S.E. Donon. Norton scored 13 points to lead the Mustangs, with Van Liew add ing nine points. McCabe and Matheny each hit a three-pointer and added seven points.
