A Morrow Co, Sheriff's deputy took the report. On August 30, the Boardman Police Department arrested and lodged Donald William Bozarth, 48, of Boardman. for allegedly Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. On August 31. a Pioneer Memorial Hospital ambulance responded to a call at Kinzua Corporation's planing mill. On September 1, Jerald Rea of Rea ranch off Bombing Range Road, reported the theft of 140 bales of alfalfa hay. On September 4. James Sharp. 15. of Portland, drowned at the Boardman Marina. Several unsuccessful attempts to locate and recover him were made by Sgt. Bill Hudson of the Boardman Po lice Department. His body was later recovered by Uma tilla diver Bob Vance. Also on September 4. a one vehicle, non-injury accident occurred about 4:05 p.m. at milepost 41 on Highway 74. Driver of the vehicle was Diana M. Epping. 17, of Lex ington. A Morrow County sheriffs deputy handled the accident. In a third September 4 inci dent, the Heppner Fire De partment responded to a fire at the Tanory ranch, five miles up Willow Creek from Heppner at 10:19 pm. On September 5, a grass fire was reported at 12:54 p.m. at 317 Boardman Ave., Board man. Boardman fire units responded. On September 6. the sheriff's office received a re port at 12.19 a.m. of a one vehicle accident at milepost four on Highway 207. A Mor row County sheriff's deputy responded and an ambulance was requested. Dwain Kay Hodge. 39, of Echo, was transported to Pioneer Mem orial Hospital, Heppner. Hodge was charaged with al legedly Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. In another September 6 in cident, John Paul Johnson, 18, of Irrigon. was arrested by the Boardman Police Department for alleged Minor In Posses sion of Marijuana, Driving While Suspended and giving false information to a police officer. Later that same day, Johnson was additionally charged by a sheriff's deputy for allegedly Manufacturing a Controlled Substance; Mari juana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance; Mari juana. He was lodged at the Umatilla City Jail. Also on September 6, Allen Keith Tompkins, 19, of Irri gon. was arrested by the Boardman Police Department for alleged Minor in Posses sion; Marijuana. Tompkins was lodged at the Umatilla City Jail. In yet another September 6 incident. Jeffrey Glenn Carr, 25. of Irrigon. was issued a citation to appear for alleged First Degree Criminal Mis chief. In a sixth September 6 inci dent, Gerald Rea. Rea ranch off Bombing Range Road, re ported another 138 or 139 bales of alfalfa hay stolen Thursday night, Sept. 2.
