Tuesdays GREEN-PALMER WEDDING HELD SUNDAY AT METHODIST CHURCH A bride of Sunday afternoon, November 26, was Miss Sally Palmer, whose wedding to James Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornett Green was solemnized at the Methodist church. Reverend Les ter Boulden officiated. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Palmer, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a ballerina length gown of white lace and her elbow length veil was held in place with a cap of sequins and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. Miss Mary Ruth Green, maid of honor wore a wine chrystalette gown, with pink, pearl trimmed headdress and carried pink chry santhemums as did the brides maids, Miss Jean Marie Graham and Miss Patricia Wright. I Ralph Marlatt was best man and ushers were Stephen Green, Terry Thompson, Al Parent and Neil Beamer. Gowned in pink chrystalette were the candle lighters, . Miss !SharOn Rill and Mrs. Herbert .Peterson. Sherri Lynn O'Brien was the flower girl. She wore a 'pink dress and carried a basket 'of red roses. Paul Green, nephew lof the groom, carried the ring on fa white satin pillow. (The mother of the bride was dressed in navy blue with pink accessories and the mother of the fgroom wore navy with white ac-1 kcessories. Both wore pink rose Ibud corsages. The cake was served by Mrs. James McCabe, aunt of the bride, assisted by Mrs. Walter Wright. Karen Lundell had charge of the' guest book and Grace Mc Cabe was at the gift table. Mrs. Claude Graham and Mrs. Alfred Lovgren assisted with the re ception. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Eubanks and children of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Green and children of Pendleton; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hageman, La Grande; Miss Sha ron Shaw, Pendleton; Mr. and Mrs. Omer McCaleb and child ren, Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartholomew, Jr., Corval lis; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Green and son Richard, Gresham; Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Thompson and daughters, Judy and Janet of Pendleton and Carlisle Harrison, Cascade Locks. The bride is a graduate of Heppner high school and attend ed E. O. C. E, at La Grande. The groom graduated from Heppner high school and attended busi ness college in Portland. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at home here. Shower Given For Miss Sally Palmer The Home Economics Club of the Rhea Creek grange honored Miss Sally Palmer with a shower, Tuesday, November 22 at .the grange hall. Pink and white candles and pink and white chrysanthemums were used on the tables, and a pink and white umbrella shower ing kitchen gadgets was featured. On the hostess committee were Mrs. Orian Wright, Mrs. John Bergstrom, Mrs. Alfred Lovgren, Miss Marilyn Bergstrom and Mrs. Harold Wright. The hostesses gave Miss Palmer a guest book for her wedding. Over forty from lone, Lexing ton, Heppner and the Rhea Creek area were present and fourteen gifts were received from others who could not be present. Party Celebrates Eighteenth Birthday Mrs. George Little entertained at a birthday party Friday even ing, in honor of the eighteenth birthday of George Little Jr. The evening was spent in play ing canasta and bridge and prizes were won by Albert Esch and Helen Graham for high score in canasta and Mr. and Mrs. Stan ley Holm for bridge. Cake, coffee, and punch were served by the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Allen Case and Mrs. Lucy Peterson. Others present were-Virginia Gonty, Evonne Esch, Dee Bailey, Sally Cohn, Alice Peterson, James Monahan, Meredith Thomson, Janet Wright, Jay Sumner, Jesse Smallwood and the honoree. O. E. S. HAS INITIATION Ruth Chapter O. E. S. held their regular meeting Friday, Novem ber 25. Mrs. Jack Flug was ini tiated. A Valentine card party will be hpld as a benefit for the United Nations Pilgrmage and it was voted to make the valentine nartv an annual event. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting by Mrs. Bergstrom, Marilyn Bergstrom and Prudy Casebeer. Degree of Honor Have Annual Dinner Degree of Honor members, thpir families and friends, met at the Christian church, Tuesday, Nnvpmhpr 11 at 6:30 d. m. for their annual Thanksgiving pot luck dinner. Refreshments Served Junior Play Cast The cast of the Junior class play enjoyed a party at the par ish hall following the Saturday night performance. Besides the cast, those present were Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Holm, Mr. and Mrs. Vivian White and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Peters. Mrs. Walter Wright, junior class room mother, was chairman of the potluck lunch.
