Bird netting project to restrict lanes on Siuslaw Bridge beginning Monday A project to place netting material, designed to keep birds from nesting beneath the concrete spans of the Siuslaw River Bridge, will restrict trav- el across the bridge to a single lane. Beginning Monday, Jan. 26, and continuing through Thursday, Jan. 29, a snooper crane will be located in one lane of traffic on the bridge, allowing staff to work beneath the deck. The work will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During that time, traffic across the bridge will be controlled by flaggers. Travelers should expect delays no longer than SATURDAY SUNDAY MONDAY TUESDAY JANUARY 24 JANUARY 25 JANUARY 26 JANUARY 27 20 minutes. The bird abatement project is timed to prevent seasonal nesting that might interfere with a bridge rehabilitation project scheduled for construc- tion later this year.
