THE UNITED STATES.

mills, breweries and factories in

that there should be any doubt
that this increase in foreign inve.-t-ment
here is a detriment to the
United States. When a brewery
or mill is thus .sold it does not pay
a cent more in wajtes or for mater
ial than while in American hands.

investment and to take his profit
away. The fact that he pays a
million dollars to certain Ameri
cans for the plant has no element
of good in it, so long as this enables
him to carry out of the country
