EXPLOSIVES AND ANARCH ISTS. The terrible effect of dynamite iKttnbstbat have been made and rued bv the anarchists, together -with the fact that the anarchistic doctrine and adherents are just as rampant and active as ever, make the consideration of their methods and agents which they use for their terrible fiendish act of destruction, subject of necessary study. . The Boston Advertiser says it is a serious question.demanding prompt attention, whether there ought not to be some legislative measurers adopted with a view to checking the indiscriminate manufacture, use, 'and sale of dynamite and similar deadly explosives. As matters are now, any man t an buy for a trifling sum of money ma terials which he can fabricate into missiles of awful destructiveness, carry on his person secure from observation, and employ witn well nigh irresistible effect against life and property. The art of making bombs is said to constitute a prin cipal topic of instruction in the Ndcret Anarchist schools. News papers devoted to the propagation of socialistic revolution have not scrupled to advise their readers to learn this art and teach it to their children, declaring that nothing is easier than to learn to make a dynamite bomb. No adequate provision is contained in existing statutes for dealing with this menace to public welfare. The science of explosives is of very recent date, so far as its most im portant developments are con cerned. Nearly all our legislation on the subject has reference to gun i powder, or at most, gun-cotton and nitro-glycerine. Not one section or line in any enactment can be found which recognizes the possi bility than a man may carry, about with him, secure from the knowl edge of any one but himself, an article no bigger than a good-sized playing marble, but which, when thrown into a carriage or railway car, is liable to explode with such force as to tear in pieces everything within a radius of many feet. Yet the bomb with which one of the condemned Anarchists in Chicago took his own life was so small that it was belie ed to have been con cealed in the hair of his head ; and the dynamite ball that slew thei Kmperor of Russia, tearing him ! limb from limb, was said to have; 1 vn of the size of a boy's marble. The principle is fully established tliat public safety requires a strict regulation of all manufacture, sale, and use of explosive compounds. But hitherto restricitons have been devised mainly for the purpose oc: preventing accident, nut crime. The state statutes do, indeed, provide inalties for destroy ing or attempting to destroy; proparty by the use of explosives, but with that exception all the ; statutory provisions leave every! Anarchist in the state practically free to follow the teachings of Herr .Most and O'Donovan Kossa. fckirely such ought not to le the case. A remedy can be found. ir.to the limbo ol the "played out." e already have the quadruplex i system by which four messages are placed on a single wire, two going one way and t a o coming the other, and all four flashing synchronously yet harmoniously together; the telephone is an old story, and the tin-foil of the phonogiaph is being hung out as a danger flag to the army of stenographers and type writers. Electricity as an illuuiin ant is as common as candles, and the magic button is as much a ''modern convenience," as "hot and cold water in all the rooms." Medical science has called electric ity to its aid, has thrust the illumined bulb into every cavity in poor man's anatomy, uses it in stead of the knife and saw, and registers with it every beat of the heart and movement of the lungs. Wtiat next ? Edison has said that he will stand on the coast of Maine, throw, a telegraphic -message out over the Atlantic and know that it will be received safe and sound on the Irish shore, and why should we doubt it? lie has shown us how to pick up a message from a telegraph wire when on board a train that rushes by the poles at the rate of forty miles an hour and thus transatlantic, not sub-Atlantic transmissions, is but a bolder step in the same direction. -With the illimitable ossibilities of electric ity before us, and with our increas ing grasp of these, there is no reason why we should stop at any thing. Time, space and the old processes will all be set aside. The Horticultural bill which is now before the legislature is a move in the right direction, and should be sustained. Our fruit interests are the leading interests ol ire state, and any movement towards extending its influence and work should be pushed to a full and speedy completion. A Warning. The modes of death's approach are various, and statistics hhow conclusive ly that more pe.-sons die from diseases of the throat and lungs than any other. It is probable that everyone, without exception, receives vast ruiubers of Tubeicle Germs into the system and where these germs fall upon suitable soil they start into life and develop, at Ui'i-t slowly and is shown by a slight tickling sensation in the throat aud if allowed lo continue their ravages they extend io the lung's pro ducing consumption and to the head, causing catarrh. Now oil this is dangerous and if allowed to proceed will, in time cause death. M the ocset you must act with promptness; allow ing a cold to go without attention is d:ingerous and may lose you your life. As soon as you feel that some thing is wrong with your throat, lungs or nostrils, obtain a bottle of Boschee's German Syrup. It will give you lm mediate relief. Worth Knowing. Mr. W, H.Morgan, merchant, Lake City Fla., was taken with a severe Cold: attended with a distressing Cough and running into Consumption iu its first stages. He tried many so called popular cough remedies and steadily grew worse. Was reduced in flesh, and had difficulty in breathing and was unable lo sleep. Finaly tried Dr. King's New Discovery for Consumption and found immediate rel.ef and after using a half dozen bottles found himself well and has bad no retura of the disease. No other remedy can show so grand a record of cures as Dr. Kind's New Discover) for Consumption Guaran teed to do just what is claimed for it Trial bottle free at Foshay & Masou The Albanv Bakery !
