At present nego tiations are at a standstill owing to i a disagreement in price between one ol the owuors and the intend ing purchasers; but Prof. Van Scoy says that if this tract is not bought some other one near it wiii be, and that uext summer the active work of getting the park in shape, erecting buildings, etc., for tne school will be commenced. For a time the idea of locating the park nehr Silver Creek falls was senousi7 discussed; out it nas been deemed advisable by those having the matter iu hand to locate it nearer to the line of the Oregon Pacific railroad, so that it will be easy of access to teachers' excur sions and others who wish to at tend the school, and also to furnish belter facilities for those who wish to go further bnck in the moun tains on botanical and mineraiog ical expeditious.
