Al ien to furnish the city with elec tric lights. His proposition to fur nish an all night service at $12 50 per month for 2000 candle art lights was accepted, and it was decided to take six of such lights, and one smaller one to be located as follows : Six 2000 candle power lights to be to be placed at the intersection of the following streets: First and Ferry, First and Broadalbin, First and Lyon. Fourth and Lyon, Eighth and Lvon, Fifth and Caia- pooia, and a To candle power light i hi iront ot the hall ot Engine Co. INo. 1. It is probable that the ferry com pany will place a large light on Ellsworth street, the O. & C. com pany one at the depot and the county one or more at the court house, in which event the city will be well lighted. BKOWYILLE .NOTES. Brownsville, Feb. 14. Mr. T. S. Fillsbury is now able to be up town. Mrs. W. D. Washburn is sick with fever, but is improving. Many fruit trees are being planted this spring in this section. The hills all around town are green anjl (spring is near at hand. Born, in this city, on the 13th inst., to the wile of Dr. Young, a daughter. There is some talk of a new school house here this summer. We need it badly. Mr. 11. J. C. City Marshal Hays had a force of men at work yesterday doing a much needed job of cleaning streets. The dirt and debris col lected 'during the winter months is being scraped up to be hauled off.
