Com m ercial Fishing in Zone 6 The fourth gillnet period fo r su m m er c h in o o k and sockeye opened July 8 and closes at 6 p.m. this Thurs day, July 11 for a total o f 3.5 days. T he open area is all o f Zone 6. Gear is restricted to. 7-inch m esh or larger. Allowable sales are chinook, sockeye, steelhead, shad, walleye, carp, c atfish , b ass, and yellow perch. T hese fish may be sold or kept for subsistence purposes. Sturgeon may only be kept for subsistence use. Legal-size sturgeon are b e tween 38 and 54 inches fork length in the Bonneville Pool and between 43 and 54 inches fork length in The Dalles and John Day pools. R iver m o u th and dam sanctuaries applicable to gill nets are in effect fo r this fish ery. T he' Spring Creek N a tional Fish Hatchery sanctu ary is n ot in effect for sum mer season fisheries. Sales o f fish caught during the open period are allowed after the end o f the open period as long as theywere landed dur ing th e o p en period.
