Spilyay Tym oo, Warm Springs, Oregon July 11, 2012 Page 3 Museum opening for Santos exhibit T h e M useum at W arm Springs held a well attended opening o f the exhibit “Indig enous Elements: The Life & A rt o f A p o lo n ia S usana Santos,” which will be show ing until Sept. 15. Santos was an activist, painter, sculptor, serigrapher, and writer who left a legacy o f creative vision for the in digenous world. The Santos family was in attendance, including mother Lena Tewee Santos who had never seen some o f the paint ings displayed in the exhibit. Santos’ paintings and seri- graphs often contain the dra matic and diverse landscape and sky o f the High Desert. Snowstorms and the elements o f wind, water, sun and moon appear with vigor. You are invited to unite in prayer for the com munity, churches and fami lies. This community gath ering takes place the third Saturday of each month. The Third A nnual B a l lo o n s Over Bend C hildren’s Festival will be held July 20-21 at Riverbend Park in Bend. The festival runs from 10-5 p.m. on Sat urday and 10-2 p.m. on Sun day. The fe s tiv a l is a fundraiser for Saving Grace, a program that provides com prehensive family abuse and sexual assault services and promotes the value of life without violence.
