Opening invocation and remarks will be at 1 p.m. in the casino lobby (must be 21 and over). The Players Club hosts will be distributing Fifst Year An niversary souvenirs at 2:30 p.m. There will be Lucky Seat Drawings from 3-11 p.m. for 40,000 slot points (SI00) ev ery hour. Council appoints new Appeals Court judges The Tribal Council ap pointed five members to the Appeals Court of the Con federated Tribes o f Warm Springs. Council advertised the po sitions, and the applicants were then reviewed by com mittee, which then recom m ended their choices to Tribal Council. The recommending com mittee included Robert Macy Sr., Lucinda Green, Arlene Boileau and Judge D an Ahem. Lynn Davis, tribal ad ministrative director, facili tated the process. The Appeals Court will meet as necessary during the year. The chief judge of the As part o f the Appeals Court, Doug Nash, will call three of the appeals judges to hear cases as needed. Meeting early last week, Tribal Council first agreed that Nash would continue as chief judge of the Appeals Court.. Nash is a Nez Perce tribal member, practicing in Seatde. His law degree is from the University o f New Mexico School of Law. The five new appointees are Marielle Florendo, Thor H o y te ,' M att Johnson, Cynthia Starke, and Elmer Ward. Florendo, who is Native American, is a member of The Jamie Rollins Band will perform from 8 p.m.- midnight.
