Salem, Oregon, Thursday, February 21, 1957 THE CAPITAL JOURNAL Section 3 Page Initiation for Junior CDAs MOUNT ANGEL (Speeial)-For-mal initiation ceremonies (or il provisional members of the Junior Catholic Daughters of America of Court Marion No. 718, Mount An gel, were conducted Sunday after noon in the St. Mary's school, be ginning at J o'clock. The lOrmal closing ceremony with benediction was in the St. hary'i church following the Ini tiation program. The Rev. Edward Spear, O.S.B., court chaplain, oifi . ciated at the services and present ed the junior emblems to the new members. The junior counselors and council members and the new juniors participated in the dedi cation ceremonies. Presiding at the initiation cere monies were the junior court offi cers, Misses Jerri Gooding, presi dent; Kathy Blem, vice-president; Maureen Fischer, secretary; Patti Aman, reporter; assisted by Judy Wachter, organist; Rita Zollner, monitor; Kathy Gaffke, Betty Geek, Diane Bourbonnais, Ger trude Huber, Jean Ebner, Kathy Ebner, Charlene Fisher, Carol Er pelding, Barbara Bockelman, Joyce Kimlinger, Agnes Purdy, Shirley Schlccht, Laura Ann Kloft, Suzane Hoffer, and Toni Williams. Others assisting with the pro gram included the chaplain; Mrs. Oscar Strand, Hillsboro, Oregon state Junior chairman and north west regional director; Mrs. Joseph L. Wachter, Junior chair man; Mrs. 0. J. Williams, Mrs. Roy Palmer, Mrs. Richard Foltz, and Miss Pat Seifer, counselors; Mrs. Joseph Seifer, grand regent, and Mrs. Henry Geek, vice-regent. Greetings from the senior court were given by Mrs. Geek. New members are Misses Shir ley Aman, Irene Vindasius, Kathy Gaffke, Virginia Maurer, Barbara Zach, Donna Orange, Marilyn Zoll ner, Mary Foltz, Bclita Sampson, Lois Schmitt, Judy Harris, Cecilia Schindler, Sharon Duerr, Susan Erpelding, Dorothy Beyer, Leona Huber, Janice Jacobson, Patty Eb ner, Evelyn Wolf, Marlene Berg and Mary Jean Schmitt. The afternoon program was cli maxed with a supper served in the dining room of St. Mary's school, for which the senior court of the Catholic Daughters entertained. Serving on the supper committee were Mrs. Alfred Bernt, Mrs. Vin cent Smith, Miss Helen Keber, Mrs, Wilbert Schaecher, Mrs. Ro bert Fronk, Mrs. James Hoffer, Mrs. Arthur Berg, Mrs. J. J. Pen ner, Mrs. Alcuin Annen and Mrs. Alice Kroll. Former Marion Man Weds in Montreal SUBLIMITY (Special) - Of Interest to his many relatives and friends here was a recent wedding in Montreal, Canada. Miss Rose- line Saunal, Tillamook and Stanley Russell, Tillamook were united in marriage at a nuptial mass at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church in Montreal on Saturday, February 9. The bride is the daughter of the late Pierre Sunal and Madame Pierre Sunal of Paris now living in Montreal. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Russell, Sr., of Marion and a brother of Gene Russell of Sublimity. Original plans for the wedding In Paris were changed due to the uncertain conditions in that coun try. A European tour will be taken later to include a visit to the bride's former home and with her two brothers in Paris. The newlyweds will reside at Tillamook where the bridegroom Is employed in the office of the Pacific Power and Light Company. AUMSVILLE (Special) A birthday party was given recently at the home of Mrs. Bill Lohse in honor of Cora Baker, Pauline Boatwright and Ann Lohse, whose birthdays were m February. Guests honoring were Mesdames June Baker. Wanda Baker, Isa- belle Snider, Rita Tietze, Helen Poet, Zelma Plane, fcileen Mickey, Richard Poet, Fern Mikkelson and hostess Mrs. Bill Lohse. WILLAMINA (Special) A shower honoring Mrs. Glenn Sprigg was given last week at the home of Mrs. Henry Amacher, with Mrs. Forrest Layton and Mrs. Perry Weaver assisting the hostess. Thursday Mrs. Bill Moore and Mrs. Bob Wells held high scores; consola tion went to Mrs. Matt Krauthoe- fer Jr.; and pinochle prizes to Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Harold Burch. WOODBLUN (Special) Mrs Charles Conyne was elected presi dent of the Homemakers club at a meeting held Thursday at the home of Mrs, Arthur Burt.
