Shrimp Cocktail. Salted Wafers, Roast Rabbit. Browned Potatoes. Creamed Peas Let Luce and Russien Dressing, Pineapple Whip, Salted Nuts, Coffee. Roast Pork. Browned Sweet Potatoes. Buttered Beets. Apple Sauce. Bread. Fruit Salad. Steamed Fruit Pudding, Orange Bauce. Coffee. Cream of Tomato Soup. Roast Duck. Mashed Potatoes, Apple Sauce. Asparagus as Creamed Celery, Rolls. Butter. (To WHITE FRUIT CAKK made several weeks before aslnc) i cup fat. 1 cup sugar. 4 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon vanilla, '-4 teaspoon lemon ex tract, teaspoon almond extract, 4 cup tnilk, 'j rup shredded blanched almonds. cup chopped citron. 1 cup chopped white raisins, cup cocoanut. 1 cups Hour, t teaspoon bakilng powder, 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten. Cream the fat and sugar for 2 minutes. Add all the rest of the In gredients and when well mixed, pour Into a lo- cake pan, which has been lined with waxed paper. Bake in a very slow oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes. When cool, wrap in waxed paper and store in the bread box. To prepare pumpkin or squash for pies or puddings, cut into pieces 4 by 6 inches. Remove all seeds and pulp and cover with water and boil until very tender when pierced with a fork. The pulp may then be easily removed, mashed and used as desired. CHRISTMAS COOK IKS (These will remain fresh if sent distances) LEBKUCUEN l'i cup strained honey, 1-3 cup water, 3 cups dark brown sugar, 3 eggs, 7 cups flour. 1 cup chopped candied orange peel. 1 teaspoon soda. 2 teaspoons cinnamon. 1 teaspoon cloves, teaspoon salt, 4 tea spoon nutmeg. 1 cup shredded atmonds. 1 cup chopped citron. 1 cup chopped raisins. Mix the honey, water and sugar. Boil gently and stir frequently for 4 minutes. Cool and add the rest of the ingredients. Shape into 2 rolls 2 inches in diameter. Roll in waxed paper and flatten so there will be straight edges, as square cookies are desired when the dough is cut. Chill for 4 days, for the flavor to blend well. Use a very sharp knife and cut off thin slices. Place 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets and bake In a moderate oven for 12 minutes. DATE HERHITfl, FOUR DOZEN S eggs 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 1 tea spoon baking powder, teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon vanilla, Vf cups chopped dates. 1 cup broken nut meats, 1 cup powdered susar. Beat the eggs and add the sugar Beat for 1 minute. Add the flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla, dates and nuts. When well mixed pour into a shallow pan, which has been fitted with waxed paper. Bake in a moderately slow oven for 30 min utes. Remove from the oven and turn out upside down a paper. Tear off the waxed paper and use a sharp knife and cut the mixture into 1 inch squares. Roll in the powdered sugar at once and let cool on waxed paper. CHOCOLATE DROPS, FOOUR DOZEN 1 cup fat. cups sugar. 3 eggs, 3 squares chocolate melted, 1 teaspoon van illa, teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon cinna mon, 1-3 cup milk, 3 '4 cups flour, 1 tea spoon baking powder, hi teaspoon soda. 1 cup broken nuts. Cream the fat and sugar for 2 minutes. Add the eggs and chocolate and beat for 2 minutes. Add the vanilla, salt, cinnamon, milk, flour, baking powder and soda. When a stiff dough forms break off small bits of dough and flatten down, 3 inches apart, on greased baking sheets. Press several nuts on the top of each cooky and bake in a moder ate oven for 12 minutes. As soon as the cookies ar done, slip a wide spatula under them and arrange them on a flat surface to cool and use the sheet for baking more cookies. Insist upon local dealers buying esgs on a "loss-off" or quality basis, advises the United States Depart ment of Agriculture. Under the loss off plan, which -has come into in creasing use in the last few years, no payment is made for eggs which are unfit for food, and a difference, based on quality, may be made in the price paid for good eggs.
