Four grolfers who have been playing the g-ame well during the past four days will contest the semi-finals round of the western coif championship in today's matches. Douglas Grant and Clarence Mangham will meet in one of the matches, while Heinrlch Schmidt and Roger D. Lapham are the rivals in the other. Grant and Armstrong were the star attraetion yesterday but the match ended on the thirteenth green. Grant defeated Armstrong 6 and 5. While Grant's victory was not unex pected, there were few who thought he could establish such a big lead on the California champion. Armstrong was not on to his game, while Grant played steadily and well. Grant had Scottv four down at the end of the first sixteen holes of the match.
