WEATHER REPORT A shallow trough of low pressure ex tends from British Columbia Houth and southwest to California, thence ea-st through Arizona Rnd New Mexico and thence northeastward to the upper lake region. The barometer is relatively hlg;h off the mouth of the Columbia river and over Montana and portions of the adjoining states. It is also rela tively high in the Atlantic states from Maine to Florida. Showers and thun derstorms have occurred in southern Nevada, northern Arizona, and New Mexico, and rain, heavy in places, has I fallen in the lowor Mississippi valley. Light showers have occurred in the eastern portion of the Imkotas. norlh western Minnesota, ajid in the northern portion of the New England states. Nearly normal temperatures prevail ev erywhere In the United States except In the lake region and Ohio valley, where It is warmer than umial. The indications are for fair weather In this district tonisht and Wednesday Lands In the Tlgardvllle Country are Below Real Value Because the Taulntln valley could only bo readied by wagon or In a round about way by train. Now the land over the hills west of l'ortland is coming; Into the public eye because of the fine 6ervice on the Oregon Electric trolley line, which makes tiie land merely sub urban to Portland. I.nnd values are. low enough to mhlte Investments profit able, even if the land Is allowed to re main Idle. With the influx of settlers, prices are raising: rapidly.
