Following is the recipe: Oil ot sweet almonds, four ounces; whit wax, six drams; spermaceti, six drams; borax, two drams; glycerine, on and one-half ounces; orange flower water, two ounces; oil of ne roll, fifteen drops; oil of blgarade (orange skin), fifteen drops; oil of petit grain, fifteen dropa . Melt the first three Ingredients, add the glycerin . to th orange-flower water and dissolve the borax in the mixture; then pour it slowly into the blended fats, stirring continuously. Buttermilk ia . one of the simplest and most effective remedies that I . know of for whitening the skin. Bathe with it both before and after expo- sure to the sun and let It dry on the akin. This will also help to keep th . freckles away. V Talcum Powder 0 SHORTY A delightful talcum pow der is composed of the following: Farina starch, fifty grains; powdered talcum, twenty grains; powdered lyeo podlum, twenty grains; salol or borio acid, ten grains; essence of violet twenty grains. ' Oily Skin TEACHER It your skin Is at all oily , do not us a cream, but apply th fol lowing lotion: Sulphate of sine, two grains i compound tinotur of lavender, eight drop; distilled werone ounce. A preparation In cluding shavings of white soap, water, potassium carbonate, borax, cologn water and a dash- of bay rum is espe . dally adapted to blond hair. Tea is popularly supposed to be a tonic for th hair and a good shampoo has its basis tea. It is mad of two ounces of alcohol, and the same quan tity each of green tea and dried sage.
