' Orange-Rfower Skin Food
MAMIE The orange-flower skin fdod
does not ' bleach the skin; Its pur
pose is to make the skin soft and
pliable. Following is the recipe: Oil
ot sweet almonds, four ounces; whit
wax, six drams; spermaceti, six
drams; borax, two drams; glycerine,
on and one-half ounces; orange
flower water, two ounces; oil of ne
roll, fifteen drops; oil of blgarade
(orange skin), fifteen drops; oil of
petit grain, fifteen dropa .
Melt the first three Ingredients, add
the glycerin . to th orange-flower
water and dissolve the borax in the
mixture; then pour it slowly into the
blended fats, stirring continuously.
Buttermilk ia . one of the simplest
and most effective remedies that I

with it both before and after expo-
sure to the sun and let It dry on the

SHORTY A delightful talcum pow
der is composed of the following:
Farina starch, fifty grains; powdered
talcum, twenty grains; powdered lyeo
podlum, twenty grains; salol or borio
acid, ten grains; essence of violet

Tea is popularly supposed to be a
tonic for th hair and a good shampoo
has its basis tea. It is mad of two
ounces of alcohol, and the same quan
tity each of green tea and dried sage.
When strained, keep corked to prevent
evaporation.

This Is too strong a solution to be ap
plied repeatedly, as it would surely have
a destructive effect on the hair follicles.
Therefor It should not b too frequent
ly applied, and not at too short an In
terval. An occasional use, however. Is
practically harmless.

pint.
